My stockpile is on lockdown. I am no longer giving away products that I use as I am scared of running out. Since P&G changed their wording to "strictly prohibited" I have had a hard time stacking at either London Drugs or Save-On for all my basic items. I have enough things such as diapers, laundry detergent, dish soap, toothpaste, razors, shave cream and shampoo to last well after maternity leave ends. However, I am already low on dishwasher soap, mouthwash, toothbrushes, and never did acquire any paper products which I now regret wholeheartedly.
Can we start a petition to P&G to boycott their products until they change their wording? Complain to the head office of London Drugs and Save-On about how if they refuse to accept the coupons then they aren't technically stacking anymore? Anything at all?!
I'm sure this all happened because too many people started couponing all of a sudden as well as some trying to "cheat" the system by using expired coupons and such. They are all big companies who want to make big money, they may not care about a few customer complaints.
Will things change back once the coupon trend slows and only the hardcore couponers remain? Or am I destined to regress to using one lone coupon at Wal-Mart instead? And am I the only one starting to panic?!

Even though you cannot stack P&G anymore I have still been able to stack for many many things. I have stopped buying P&G products and switched to brands I can stack on like aveeno/dove/finish/vaseline/l'oreal/sensodyne/garnier.

For paper products I buy whatever is on sale, use a coupon to bring the price down even more, and then use a gift card to pay for my balance. I don't have a huge stockpile of paper products but enough to get us through till the next sale.

As for petitioning LD and SOF - I don't think it would make a difference as they are just following the wording on the coupons. It was P&G that changed not them, and we should all be thankful they still do allow stacking at all.

I did not realize we could stack here in the west until May and that is when their coupons started changing, so I cannot fully appreciate the loss. Did find Purex on sale this week at Walmart and pm'd at LD; using 2 coupons got 12 double rolls for just over $3. not free but not too shabby. Brand loyalty can be difficult for couponers.

I heard P&G didn't change the wording in the USA, just Canada. Is that true?

Welcome to the world of those who live on the east coast!

I don't think they changed the wording because of fraud; I think they did it because they were taking a lot of unpredicted losses after the couponing boom. If people are clearing the shelves at all London Drugs, getting everything for free, you have to imagine what a huge spike in coupons were being reimbursed. I don't blame them for stopping this... Even if you don't agree with them making a lot of money, they are a business - their purpose is to make money, not to give away everything for free because people feel entitled to it.

Besides, it's not a "right" to be able to stack coupons. They still give us good savings on items, so think of that as their appreciation for us buying their products.

Just so you know, this is also out of the hands of London Drugs. No matter how much you complain to them, they will not take a loss for you, so you can coupon. You would have to complain to Proctor & Gamble themselves.

And no, I don't think that couponing is a phase. Economies are down, the internet has spread the word, and now this is a lifestyle. Maybe not everyone takes it to the extreme, but I think that nowadays people appreciate the value of a dollar more than they have the past 10 years.

    I agree!!
I am looking for many fpc coupons and willing to trade gift cards - especially stouffers and fresh produce. The expiry dates must be at least 1 month away. I'm also looking for betty crocker, pillsbury, philadelphia, nexxus, $3 beef, icecream, beans. I prefer large trades but have few coupons to trade.

I don't know if boycotting will do much good because they aren't really getting any of your money anyways since stacking is usually used to get things for free or nearly free. Stacking to get free products ends up costing P&G more money to cover the coupon than the product is worth to them (product cost + store overhead + coupon handling fee). We can't stack out here in Ontario anyways, so the wording hasn't affected us here.

I am going to start off by saying that if you are offended by what comes next, I am truly sorry.

I am sorry to say this, but REALLY!?!? The rest of the country gets by without stacking!

I'll admit, I am jealous of you who can do so, as I live in Ontario...but is this really something worth pursuing? You are going to boycott a brand because you can no longer get their products for FREE????

I know I will take a lot of heat for this comment, but as one poster said, it is not a right....couponing is a privilege and we are so lucky to be able to have our favourite brands offer us discounts. Why can we not just be appreciative of what they offer us?

I am also mourning stacking loss right now too-however I don't think petitioning would do any good or be fair. I agree that LD's former stacking was not playing by the rules, and think that by pulling back the reigns it will make couponing a better place as more companies may get into the couponing biz if they're not going to be taken advantage off.

Having said that, I am weeping for my stockpile and will be looking for new ways to save. You can always save, but perhaps just less than before.

I too am one of the ppl who is missing the 'stacking P&G ways" but not for me personally, because I used to stock up so I could make big donations of items to shelters at Christmas time on behalf of my family! So in the long run, I dont think its going to hurt some of us personally but I think the shelters who rely on us bringing in this stuff may start hurting a little bit. I know personally i can not afford to be spending money out of pocket just to turn around and give it away expecially at that time of year! For those who can all the power to you! *** Just my personal opinion**

I am with you 100% I too live in Ontario and have no London Drugs or any other store that allows stacking. I am jealous of those who can because you can get the product. But I get by just fine. I may pay a little more out of pocket, but you can't go boycotting a company because of their wording. Be thankful you can still stack other coupons because some of us can't
