Thread: Trade Guidelines

I just started trading early July but have been on this site for a while and I dont know if my offers on trading are really good but I have done 33 trades in the last 20 days. Im wondering if Im offering too many coupons per stamp ratio as I have been offered ridicious amounts of stamps for a small amount of coupons, them being HV or not, the way I see it HV or not if you willing to trade them, they have really little value to you. i.e. 25 stamps for 60$ worth of coupons or 11 stamps for $45 worth. I usually offer $6 worth for 1 stamp and 3 stamps for $20, which is offering a discount from the $6/1stamp. Im ok with trading for stamps but to put out more then one or two for a trade is crazy to me, the whole point of couponing is to save money.
so my question is, is there a guideline somewhere that I have missed on this site, stating the fair trade amounts?Gotta love a good deal!!

I'd like to know how long is a reasonable amount of time to complete a trade once you've started pm'ing with someone. I've happily agreed to my first 4 trades this week, pretty much all of them were completed in 24hrs or less. Is this timeline an unreasonable expectation to have for future trades ?

If you mean when you are in the middle of a trade, still pming each other with the coupon info, but before the trade is finalized and addys. exchanged: I'm not sure there is an "official timeline" that is used to complete trades, I believe that is up to the traders discretion. I agree with the 24 hour rule too. When I am working on a trade, and if I do not hear back from the trader within 24 hours, I considered that trade, dead. I then send a pm to the trader telling them "since I have not heard back from you in 24 hours, I feel this trade is dead, feel free to move onto other trades as I have" You will figure out what is right for you.

I hope someone viewing this thread can help me out...
Under you Feedback Recieved section there is a button under Options that says, "Submit Rating For This Deal."
What does submitting the rating do?
Is it necessary?
I have some that have been submitted (by who?)
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thx

Bear in mind, I've JUST started trading and I'm still new at this:
You have ratings... which means other ppl you traded with left you a rating. Did you leave THEM a rating ?
From what I've read in posts there seems to be a LOT of opinions about whether rating is optional or not. I think if someone helps you build your rating, it's the minimally polite thing to do the same for them. Just my opinion.
I think your lack of answers is because not many ppl check in on this thread. Perhaps you'd get more feedback starting your own thread to ask ?
Cheers

Thanks for your answer.

However, I'm looking for information on my own feedback page.
Is it necessary to submit feedback?
What is the benifit?
When should it be done?
I've already recieved and given ratings.
I'm just curious about the "submit rating for this deal" button.

I agree with K8's Fate. If you submit feedback by going to the person's page rather than linking from the itrader rating they submitted, the button on your page says lit, indicating you still need to submit feedback.
What do you do if someone substiutes items in a trade? There were three $1.00 coupons substituted for a $3.00 coupon. All were for coffee, but I would have liked to have known about the substitution before hand. I was already getting 5 of the $1, but got 8 which is more than I wanted.
Not having a good day. The only other mail I got was an envie full of mostly expired coupons. I emailed the person hoping to get it straightened out.Last edited by BC Gal; Tue, Oct 11th, 2011 at 05:37 PM.

I would ask them to replace it as agreed in the original trade, there is a big difference in a $1 off and a $3 off the same product
As far as the second, I usually PM the person, 9/10 times they offer to send another envie or return your coupons - if not then contact sally
