Thread: Your Favourite Podcasts?
-
Sun, Nov 9th, 2014, 10:43 AM #1
I enjoy listening to podcasts when I am doing housework, waiting for the bus, and before I go to sleep at night.
If you listen to podcasts, what are some of your favourites?
Ones I listen to regularly (at least, for now!)....
Tapestry (CBC - spirituality/philosophy)
The Moth (true life storytelling)
The Truth (radio drama)
The Unexplained (mysterious/spooky topics)
Druidcast (music, interviews, lectures)
Under The Influence (CBC - about advertising/marketing/sales)
The Lapse StoryTelling Podcast ("true stories, gussied up")
Others I occasionally listen to:
Conversation Street (a podcast about the tv show Coronation Street. Note: they are a week or two ahead of us in Canada. so avoid if you dislike spoilers).
Fat-Burning Man (health, fitness, whole foods)
New Yorker (fiction, movies, current topics)
Ideas (CBC - a wide variety of topics)
Canada Reads (CBC - when I miss it on tv)
Joe Rogan (a variety of guests, I only listen when there is one I am particularly interested in)
various shows from BBC 4This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by TrueNorthTreasures; Sun, Nov 9th, 2014 at 10:44 AM.
Unique items and great deals to be found on the Halifax Cat Rescue Society auction page.

Great topic, maybe we can get more replies. I love podcasts for road trips mainly, its like my guilty pleasure and made the trip so much more enjoyable. I usually do a 7 hr round trip every second weekend to visit my sweetie.
Right now am subscribed to:
The Alton Browncast - Of Food Network fame, guest chef interviews, listener questions about food or cooking
The 31 with Brandt Tobler, comedian interviewing other comedians using the same 31 questions
Douchedag and Unicorn Diaries - A couple that live in Vegas. They use to go out a lot and review places from dive bars t strip clubs to fine dining but since they had a baby their format has changed and they don't put anything out on a regular schedule.
My very favorite podcast retired recently after about 9 yearsI haven't found a really good replacement. I use to spend 3 shows a week with them.

One of the podcasts I enjoy, The Unexplained With Howard Hughes, has just launched a brand new website. You can listen to the shows there or through iTunes. The topics run the gamut, from science to "things that go bump in the night"!
