Hi... I'm not even sure if this is the right room to ask but here goes. Can anyone recommend a good home security company in Brampton . I don't have one now on my home and it's all new to me . I heard nowadays they have wireless monitoring system but when I google I get many but I don't know whether if this or that are good . Any suggestions ? Thanks

Wireless is a good idea. I was surprised how easy it was to get to my phone lines at the side of a building. I'm not familar with Bampton companies, so I'll let others make recommendations. Have you asked neighbors who they use and recommend?

You also want to investigate bylaws, especially with false alarms.

Personally, I got myself a couple of DropCam's...

• no false alarm noise to neighbors
• $10 a month and $5 for each additional camera
• activity is sent to the cloud
• there's motion detection that you get emails, great when aimed at the entrance of an apartment.
• if power/signal is interrupted to the camera, you get an email from the cloud.

There are things you can do avoid trouble...

• keep you lawn regularly mowed and snow cleared. Make the house looked lived in.
• Lights on timers.... LED lights can be left on 24/7 while consuming minimal energy
• Good locks. Replace that cheap wooden door with something more solid, possibly metal.
