Actually, with people I dont know, I am more likely to call them out on rude comments (Like the comment mentioned above calling the poster a "Heifer") or behaviours towards me or anyone I am with (probably with a statement like "What did you say?").

I think I had spent too much of my childhood being bullied, so now at the ripe old age of 41 () I refuse to take stuff like that, from acquaintances or strangers. Im not confrontational and I try to not be rude, and I expect the same treatment. But I will stand up for myself or my loved ones if need be....

    Again, just my $0.02....

Well OP, young people come in all ranges, rude, polite, responsible, irresponsible.
I saw this sign once, and whenever I encounter the rude irresponsible kind I remember that sign, gives me a giggle.

" Real life " will one day kick them so hard in the backside they won't know what hit them...so be patient and wait for it. lol.

This is you having the last laugh!

    HUGS
some people can be so cruel. They don't think about how hurtful something can be sometimes.

I appreciate the feedback from everybody, thank you so much.
I must say with every comment is a different way of dealing with a subject like this.

nothing wrong with standing up for what is right. this is what i am trying to teach my boys, if you see something that you dont think is fair/right you always have the right to say something as long as you say it respectfully.

Uh, I don't even let my husband take out his bad days on me, why would I let a perfect stranger ABUSE me in that regard. Basically you're saying that since I had a horrible day at work, its okay for me to go around and be rude and ignorant to people all.day.long... because I have a bad day?! That's not right at all.

No, that is not what I'm saying. If you read all my posts I said that you should not care whatsoever what someone else thinks of you.

I can't control how someone else is going to act, so why should I even try? If someone is having a crappy day, is in a bad mood, feels like fighting, wants to take out their frusterations on me - I DO NOT CARE.

I will walk away - that's it. The answer is not to keep yourself in the situation and let it escalate.

As a kid, I hurt some others and kids hurt me too; it was a cycle that was never-ending. I grew up out of my childish attitude of feeling the need to always stick up for myself and prove that I was okay.

I know that there is nothing wrong with me and therefore anything anyone has to say to me will have no affect.

The root issue of bullying these days has just as much to do with the bullies as it does with those who are being bullied. I believe that we aren't teaching our children confidence and how to deal with difficult situations.

    For example:

If your husband is in a pissy mood and he's yelling at you, what is the best thing to do? Should you start screaming back at him asking why he's being a jerk, creating a huge fight trying to put him in his place? Or should you step back, let him release his frusteration and then ask him why he's so upset. Or if he's too upset to talk rationally just walk away or leave the house until he has calmed down and is ready to act like a normal human being.

Diffuse the situation instead of lighting a match under the fire...

Besides, if there are two people who can communicate their emotions without acting crazy, you won't even be in that situation in the first place. Communication is key.

I am looking for many fpc coupons and willing to trade gift cards - especially stouffers and fresh produce. The expiry dates must be at least 1 month away. I'm also looking for betty crocker, pillsbury, philadelphia, nexxus, $3 beef, icecream, beans. I prefer large trades but have few coupons to trade.
