just discovered this offer today and doubled up on M&Ms since WM had them for 77c. I actually got paid to buy chocolate, so we have lots for stocking stuffers

What an amazing offer! I got my first 20 (10 for my account and 10 for DH's) and I am now running to the store to get my next 20 chocolate bars. I bought the first set at Dollarama for .77c each, so free, plus a moneymaker.

Advertising. I get 10 chocolate bars for free, and I give them to 10 people, tape them to Xmas cards. Now there's 10 new people who will try them and like them and become future customers. There's a lot of competition for chocolate sales at this time of year.

With Valentine's Day (another chocolate heavy holiday) coming, they may hope people will seek them out for then too.

I have to be honest, I had never tried a Twix bar in my life until Checkout 51 did a similar offer to this one in the summer. I like them and will buy them again. My dad had never tried them and he LOVES them now.
