Thread: Flight Deals?
-

Any one have any insight on how/why to find good flight deals?
We're going to Florida in February and I've been looking at flights for the past 3 months and I have yet to find a good sale. Not sure if there just isn't any or I'm looking in all the wrong places. We're fairly limited to our travel times since DH has strict time off and the kids cannot travel at night (I'm really hoping for a morning flight).
DH is now trying to talk me into driving, which I really don't want to do with 2 little ones so I thought I'd ask to see if any one has any suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Not sure where you live but I saw something recently about cheaper flights from border cities-google border city expedia flight deals if you live close to the US border. Otherwise I research airfares on Expedia or Cheapoair-once you find a good price and flight you like on a specific airline I then go to that airlines own website where it might be a bit cheaper.

I've checked most of the major sites (at least the ones I know of): Expedia, tripadvisor, redtag, flightcentre, aircanada, etc. I also checked different departure cities (Toronto, Ottawa, Syracuse, etc).
The cheapest I found Air Canada was $900 per person for the day/time we prefer. There wasn't much discount to move our departure time/day so no incentive there. I did find the same departure time & day through Sunwing vacations for $777. Not much of a discount but better than $900.
Today I stumbled upon Air Transat leaving from Montreal on the same day and roughly the same time for $558 per person!
The only difference was that we'll have to leave 1 day earlier than we planned, but for a savings of $876 + taxes it's totally worth leaving 20 hours earlier.
So our flight is officially booked!
Our house rental has been booked for months, our car rental is booked, our park tickets are all paid for and in my wallet, so I guess all that's left is to go and enjoy!
Thanks so much for all the ideas everyone!
