No Christmas lights. Only crackers, candles and other decor items sort of throughout the store. Lots of Lego but no clearance stickers. Tried scanning a few things but no deals.

There were walls of bathroom beach size towels for $5.99. Wasn't really clearance but still a really great price for their size/quality
nvm found my answer!
im so sad Target is leaving :(
I'll be heading to my Ancaster Target within the next few days and I'll let you guys know what I see...I'm hoping they got more stock in on a few things I wanted to buy for DD....
I am going to read this thread before venturing out to check out the Target liquidation sales. Unfortunatley since the closing has been anounced I have left Target many times empty handed. Like many on here it has been my happy place since it opened in Canada. For close to 2 years I have not bought 1 thing at Crapmart. I really hate that store and will not return. I will get my Target fix by going to the US....just like I did before they came to Canada. Bath & Bodyworks, Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart will be my go to stores for health and beauty. Loblaws and Costco for groceries etc. Clothes I will also purchase in US. I hope for all us "Loyal" Target shoppers the liquidation sales are good but sadly I dont think I will be finding what I want at the price I am willing to pay (a Dyson at 50 to 70% off). :frown:
We have a few ways of dealing with it, sometimes we scan the item with our own PDA's to see if the price shows on it ( sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't)..we also ask if you remember the price on the shelf, if so we are suppose to go with that price….BUT if it seems like an unreasonable price we can walkie someone to go check the shelf price…so atleast make it believable if you are going to guess..haha
ALSO, by Thursday its a whole new game plan on that process anyways…no Target Team Member has a say in any of the pricing, the final price will always come down to what the liquidator has decided…so if it's priced $9.99 and its in a $7.99 priced location, its still going to be $9.99…as we can all probably imagine it will be a zoo in there and keeping the store neat will be next to impossible.
I feel you on that. I also had a guest who wanted a discount on an open box. Item was fine, nothing wrong. I guess some one decided to open it to see what it looked like (despite having demos RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM)
I hated the people who always stopped me asking for a price check every darn second and they're standing right in front a price check. I don't mind when it comes to 1 or 2 but you're entire cart? At my store, PDAs are scarce and I would love to conserve the battery on mine for better things than scan 20 toys a parent has in their hand for prices, then later dump them back in my arms.
My TL asked me if I wanted to stay till 1am to help over night push stock. I wished I could rev log alll the open make up.
*raises hand*
I found their price checkers hard to use. And I worked as a cashier for nearly 10 years so knew how to scan stuff. I can see why people bugged you (I personally just took the item to the cash or put back on the shelf). Sorry for the crappy equipment that caused you extra work
You do realise that most of the time, those price check scanners never worked right? Every single time I went to my local Target, they NEVER scanned anything. I came across two price checkers with the screen all smashed in. Yeah....I'm going to stop a worker and ask him to price check the item on their PDA for me. Many I encountered were happy to do it for me and didn't throw a hissy fit.
I checked out Target in Niagara Falls last night and it was SO empty already! The whole back section of the store was empty and the shelving dismantled. I had read rumors of the stores getting extra shipments at the end, but it doesn't look like that will be the case with this location at least. All of the end caps (where I always looked first for clearance!) were empty. There were far fewer clearance stickers than normal, even the toy section had barely any clearance.
I would never ask an employee to scan more than 1 or 2 items IF the scanner thingy wasn't working.... I realize the employees are there to be of service to the customer but they do have other jobs to do too..... getting them to scan "100" items is ridiculous......I feel for the workers come tomorrow....it will be chaos.....
I was at one of our Targets in Niagara & it was dead.... all I kept thinking was, the calm before the storm..... have a feeling this liquidation is not going to be what most think it is. Now that article that came out the other day calling tomorrow like "Black Friday" is just going to cause a riot with people's complaints and expectation of a mega discount.
I know this store is a different story but, Liquidation King's prices I've found, are nothing "liquidating" about it...in fact, some of their prices are higher than what the stores have them listed on the shelves..... so I guess we'll see about this BF deal as they're calling it. I find it amazing how quickly the company will come in & change all the prices by tomorrow....isn't there some decision being made today about what companies are liquidating? (or something, I can't keep up with the news).
I saw on Global News .
Target Canada Owes : $ 5 Billion Dollars, out of which $ 3.1 billion is owed to Target USA ( which they are waiving off ).
So they owe $ 1.9 Billion dollars to other creditors.
Target Canada in total has $ 500 million dollars in inventory/goods left. This figure seems low to me , but they mentioned only $ 500 million dollars in inventory across their 133 stores & various warehouses/distribution centre.
So basically they owe other creditors $ 1.9 Billion dollar & have only $ 500 million in inventory left.
So most creditors will only get 25 cents on a dollar , that too if they are lucky & after all expenses, court costs , administartion costs, liquidation costs etc.
Some creditors down the list , especially the smaller ones will probably get nothing
Is there a final word on whether or not gift cards will be accepted during liquidation? I have to use the ones I received when I redeemed my Red card rewards. Wondering if I have to do it tonight or not.
In the Q&A on the Target website (I included the red card stuff just for information):
http://pressroom.target.ca/news/questions-answers
Will REDcard be honoured at Target Canada stores while in liquidation mode?
Yes.
Will Target Canada honour gift cards?
Target Canada will continue to accept gift cards through the liquidation period. U.S. Target stores have never accepted Target Canada gift cards. That will not change.
