I was in St Catharines Pen Centre Target today for the first time since the liquidation was announced. There was a lot of complaining going on, it must be very demoralizing for the employees. The cashier who rang in my greetings cards (30% off including the Valentines cards, and still a very good selection), was so friendly that I wanted to report the good deal on the cards, but give him a shout out as well. I'm really going to miss Target Canada and their great staff.

I was on my way to Central City Target but got lost in conversation and ended up at Scottsdale. Toys are still fully stocked with the exception of Lego. All the smaller sets are gone and the ones left are the really expensive ones. There's also nothing left for Playdough, no really cheap Fisher Price toys either.
My son helped me find some clearance girls baby clothes but a person working said that the sale was off the original price. But she was wrong! They both reduced even further at the till
The lines were long but they sure moved fast! I was out within 5 minutes of getting in line. I was definitely disappointed because like some other have said, the prices have gone up to before clearance prices and with 10% off most items, it's not worth it.

Not seeing anything great here.. I honestly prefer to pay more at WM then to stand in a line for hrs on end.. Sorry but 5% off an Ipod is quite silly, heck they are cheaper at Bestbuy when they go on sale... Sure there might be some good deals but 20% doesn't justify the hr wait in line..

Stopped by one Target in Brampton around 5pm and there were no long lines. Checked out fairly quickly.

Ahh! Awesome deal! I was at the Chilliwack Target today, saw the trike and debated about scanning it, but I didn't. GRR, I should have! Hubby is going to Chilliwack tomorrow, maybe I'll make him go in and scan it to see. But it might be gone already too….sigh
I scored some good deals today, I'll try to take a pic later and post about it. Most of my toys had clearance stickers and then the additional 20% on top of that price so I was super happy!

And I didn't blow off work early today to meet up at Target either (*cough*meeeks*cough*)
But I may or may not have missed my ferry and spent 4+ hours in the store instead. LOL

Target bought the leases to Zellers stores from Hudson’s Bay Company for $1.825 billion in 2011, but did not keep the employees.
An estimated 27,000 people lost their jobs at Zellers as a result.
Didn't know so many worked for Zellers , now 17,600 Target employees are laid off ..wonder how many are former Zellers employees.

Buying leases had nothing to do with keeping the previous tenant's employees. When a company (HBC in this case) decides to shut down they don't ever approach the next tenants on that property to hand jobs to the previous tenant's employees.
