I wish I had seen this sooner cause I got some myself and they were "okay" but I had maybe 17 chips. What a rip!

DAMN, this is a TOUGH ROOM for chocolate potato chips! They look 'ugly' so no dice! Haha!
To me, they're actually DELICIOUS, if you like sweet + salty together.
Of course the potato chips, with the bag showing granules of salt on top of the chocolate, are going to be salty.
If they covered the entire chip in chocolate, it would be too heavy (break the chip) and it would be too much chocolate for the flavour of the chip to even register. I was happy that it wasn't just a dollop of chocolate on some crumbled potato chip! The balance tastes much better.
They're expensive for a small bag, but contain a *lot* of chocolate -- decent quality chocolate, as well, not oil-based "chocolatey" coating. They are also a limited time novelty, so of course the prices are going to be a little higher. Think about how much chocolate is in one of these bags, and how many chocolate bars it would equal since the bars are only covered, not filled with, chocolate (in most cases).
Good luck to all of you who are gonna try to melt chocolate onto chips ... making confection is a lot harder than it seems, but it is fun!
We have four people in our household, non-related, and of different ages. Three of us liked them, and one refused to even try it, because "That's disgusting!" until we made him cave in -- and he liked them! Much more than he was admitting, since he went out and bought his own bag after ...

I had bought a bag a while ago at Walmart and I was disappointed. Heavy on the chocolate and not enough salt. Actually I couldn't make out any salt flavour really. Had they drizzled the chocolate the sweet salty combo would have been better in my opinion. I found the heavy chocolate kinda ruined the crispness of the chip too.

i bought them yesterday..... expensive for this couple chips. mine were ok from the looks(half the bag whole chips the rest broken, but in every other chipsbag it is the same). one site is covered with chocolate the other one not, so i think it is supposed to be like that. TASTE? I LOVE THEM!!!!!!! if you love chocolate covered pretzels this is the perfect snack. i just wish they weren't so expensive.
