It is NOT what you think. What you are seeing is done on a store by store basis....not something from Head Office. Our store where I am has been doing this for some time now. What the stores are doing is, they are looking at the flyers...many locally only...and changing prices in their system to prices in the weekly ads. Some could be doing it for majority of things in the flyers they look at....some may be doing it only for the items they figure there will be lots of ad matching to. And the prices in the register are for THAT store only. So you could go to another Walmart in the same city if there is one, and the price might be the regular price.

thank you very much for that info. I was concerned how each WM would decide which flyer they would be matching to...would they consider the lowest of the lows, here it is usually a shiny Chinese market flyer?? Just curious.

Actually Anna Michele....that's not exactly true. Walmart offers their Mastercard Rewards Program. DH and I have the mastercard. Everytime we go in, we use the credit card to get the rewards but pay it off immediately at the till with cash. We have never, ever carried a balance with the credit card. We already have $130 in rewards accumulated.

Yes but that is a credit card. Shoppers has a credit card as well. Anna Michelle is referring to rewards simply for shopping, not for using a credit card.

I understand what you're saying Anne but that's pretty much exactly what I'm doing....I am using their credit card to get rewards simply for shopping. I'm paying with the credit card to get the rewards and then paying off the credit card immediately at the till with cash. In over a year, I have never had one cent owed on that credit card. Just reaping the rewards. (but I do get what you're saying )

Would be up to the store. Store in my city will no longer ad match to the asian/chinese flyers. Their translation of product to English, their pictures, are sometimes inaccurate as to what exactly they are selling for their prices. There has been a lot of incorrect ad matches with these stores when Canada wide was allowed.

And you're proving yourself to be credit worthy as well to lenders out there...if one ever needs a loan or mortgage.

I rarely shop at Walmart either. RCSS gets most of my money.
