Coincidentally, in Canada you are only trespassing if someone or something (a sign or a fence) has communicated to you that you should not be there. If you have to break a lock to enter a property you are breaking and entering which is something else all together.

This is not what she did, she went through a dumpster, the property of the store. This considered a portable structure. This is illegal in Ontario.
