About 80% of the locations are open
Some items in the store (like huge bags of mulch $3.99) and some in the garden center
YMMV

Thanks Shwa Girl, I've been waiting for this.
You are welcome.

They did this last year...
Thanks, I bought the turf builder 2 weeks ago and it was $8.00 off and the scotts premiere grass seed last week it was either $6.00 or $8.00 off.. I always buy it it at the end of April..they use to have them $10.00 off this year it was $8.00.. Still a great deal!! Now I have to go and get my hanging baskets!!
^their hanging baskets are always exceptionally beautiful and healthy.
They had pots done up with 'nine bark' a shrub as the tall item in the pot. Decided I would do this with my barrels. In the fall I will transplant the Nine Bark in my yard. Therefore get to recycle plants back into my yard.
^great idea. I have nine bark with the purple foliage and they have beautiful white flowers in the spring. very hardy.
I was at Costco this morning, and I think that every shopper except for me had a hanging basket or five in their carts. Oh my.
I did pick up some hostas in a bag, though. I was just reading about hosta viruses...I'm now hesitant to plant them as I fear they'll have it, too.
@dizzyb did you happen to see if they have those big hibiscus trees out? I usually get my mom one for Mother's Day but I've been waiting closer to the day in hopes they have a good selection.

I'm sorry, @bargain_hunter_lola I didn't look. I was hoping to find herbs (they didn't have any yet), and my tunnel vision prevented me from noticing anything else. :/
@SavvyLady Some of the hostas varieties had 8 plants (like Sum and Substance). Same price mentioned by Shwa Girl, $14.99.
No, they weren't on clearance ($14.99), which is unusual for me who never pays full price for anything LOL! I've had hostas before, but I purchased those potted. So this is somewhat new territory for me. I had read somewhere that the bulbs only last for a few weeks once bagged...I didn't want to risk waiting too long.
i wandered through the garden center about 2 weeks ago and snapped a bunch of pix to send to my mom (who had never been in a costco garden center) if anyone wants me to post them my kid was obsessed with the banana trees with the big leaves
okies this might be photo heavy...

Thanks for the pics!! Do you remember if they had any red weigilia bushes?
Thanks for the pics. That's a nice garden center -- have not seen some of those plants in Oshawa. And of course, the parking lot is full
this is the BC garden center... they might differ by province (i would not be surprised if they do... some flowers grow better in different environments and i can see them catering to that)
BHL: the Mississauga South location has them now. (or at they did on Sunday)
I thought some more about the hosta viruses. I think when you split an existing mature hosta plant in the Spring and don't clean the shovels between, that's how the virus can spread. I think that if the shovels/tools are cleaned in a dilute bleach solution, rinsed and dried before next use, the chances of spreading the virus decreases.
