Ever since Chris' accident in February, the art of couponing died. Now that is he on the road to recovery and is home now, he started sending for some and got some RAOK from Carlyincanada and $power to restart his coupon stockpile.
So he decided that tonight would be the night he filed away the massive stack of coupons that were on the computer desk. He grabbed his folder and opened it up and started pulling out coupons. He figured a lot would be expired and he was right....
However, here are two things he found:
$10 coupon good for any Nestle products (expired Aug 30/11)
2 $5 off any Glade products (expired June 30/11)

Some very sweet coupons that are now reduced to recycling! Oh well what can you do... I never bothered checking the folder while he was in hospital and even though he was home by June 1, 2011, he was in no condition to start couponing again!
So now we are starting fresh and new again! At least he found 2 D'Italiano coupons that are good until the end of the year! Just after Giant Tiger had it on sale too!! Oh well, I am sure it will be on sale again!
Just wanted to share the tale of woe....

Sad that such nice coupons are gone

I use coloured dots next to my coupons in my binder. One colour for each of the next four months....saves me having to dig out the coupons to check expires if I don't remember them

The same thing happens to be yearly, usually on January's 1st when I do my big clean up of last year's coupon. I've found food FPCs that have gone unused because I misfiled them. It certainly made me cringe.

It's so nice to hear that Chris' coupon mojo is returning!

Your post at least made us smile!
You might be out of the loop in regards to our situation, but that is easily done in a community as large as ours!
It is actually my son that is the "couponer". I am his father. Chris has no computer access so I have taken over as the poster on SC here!
As for extra coupons, check out our wishlist, it is on there.... or send anything... they come in handy for future trades as well!!!!
Thanks for the good wishes on Chris' recovery. He admits that he is now getting frustrated and a wee bit depressed over the lack of progress he is making, but is remaining optimistic. He realizes it is a long road ahead of him...Is it baseball season yet?

It's not that they were not organized incorrectly or anything. It is just that the binder went untouched from February until now. Thus the coupons were never seen until now!!!
Of course now with the help of worz.ca, that makes it easier as every coupon received is entered on there and then filed away. It will remind us that there are coupons expiring!
Oh and I agree that there will be more great coupons in our future, Smart Canuckers rock in that regard! Is it baseball season yet?

Carl...you're doing amazing on the computer these days

I love to think of you and Chris/theweave doing the coupon thing together.
And don't mourn the death of those coupons too much...there is always another one down stream on the coupon river
