got 3 free magazines from visiting my daughter yesterday(oh and a lovely free roasted chicken ,roasted potatoes and corn meal too) -Toronto life and a few others
Was cleaning out our home office yesterday and came across a little technology graveyard. We had a few really old smartphones that I thought weren't worth anything, sitting and collecting dust. So I listed two of them on varagesale just to see if there were any takers and half an hour later I was $80 richer. I have one more to sell...but need to find the missing charger first :P
Side note: Make sure to always do a data wipe on your phones and take out the sim card before selling :)
I guess I will be saving the cleaning lady money as she is moving and I have not started looking for a new one yet.
This week, I started making an extra cup of coffee in the morning with the big percolator, and pouring it into a drip-proof travel mug to bring to work with me, instead of buying a coffee for 1.75$ every day! Savings of 8.75$ per week, and no extra work except to add the sugar and milk, and remembering to bring my mug to work (which I used to bring every day anyways).
I also picked up some instant oatmeal at Walmart for 2 for 5$, and redeemed 1$ on Checkout51, for quick and easy snacks at work in case I don't bring enough for lunch!
Used 'gorilla tape' to patch a small tear in the rubber seal of my front end washing machine. Ran a heavy duty load this morning and everything is good and the tape is still stuck on good and proper :-)
Picked up free bed frame from our local buy and sell page.
I cooked myself breakfast and lunch instead of buying from a burger store.
Also, I prepared fresh fruit salad with my lunch, yeah~
The car wash behind us is having free car washes this weekend so whipped over there early before the line could get too long.
Just $1.25 between Groupon and CO51.
went to bulk barn yesterday... bought 4.76 worth of spices, and made up enough taco seasoning for 20 batches, or the equivilant of 20 little over priced packages fromt eh grocery store. and its got no salt... so ... salt free for my diet.
Good for you all! I get ideas every day around here! Thanks everyone!
picked up presale bracelets for the fair this coming weekend saved $8 per bracelet and we got to check out the grounds before the fair just as the first rides are starting to roll in (i always like to get a feel for the area before the chaos)
bought apower bar for my tv,so that I will turn it completely off... and not keep that phantom energy so less electric usage.
Actually stuck to my price list when I went to Costco, and didn't overpay for fresh produce! Went to Superstore afterwards and picked up what was cheaper elsewhere instead of just buying all at Costco. Saved me probably at least 20-40$!
