Took a little family trip out to apple picking country about 20 minutes outside of Montreal at Mont St. Gregoire today. There is a beautiful orchard at the base of the mountain called Verger de la Montagne(450)460-2858 and they are open all winter if you want to call them and order apples. It's a family run business which we like to support since local farmers have such a tough time in this competitive market. We already picked about a month ago but my dad wanted some more of his favorites which are called Spencer. So got 80 lbs of Spencers for $50 (62 cents /lb) and we had the privilage of trying out a new variety which doesn't even have a name yet although Kiera dubbed them Juicy Juice because they really are juicy and crispy and have a sweet flavour with a hint of grape/passion fruit in them. So the yellow "juicy Juice" ones were 10lbs for $7.

They look sooooo good. Nothing taste better tham fresh apples right from the tree. What a fabulous price too. It's nice that there are still places around that you can take your family for an outing like that, as those kinds of outings are getting fewer and fewer every year it seems. WTG!
