Hmmmm...I have a bad feeling this is going to have some ripple effect in some other states, and set a precedent. Shame on politicians for using this as an opportunity to gain votes. Cruz and Huckabee heading to Kentucky to offer support

I have several highly Christian FB friends, from a now defunct board, who feel that Ms Davis is being persecuted purely for her beliefs rather than ...dunno ...disobeying/defying the law she herself had vowed to upkeep when she was sworn in as the elected county clerk.

One of these friends then posted this

Like the bus driver here in Canada that refuses to drive a bus if it is painted in the rainbow colour. All this tell me is that there are still people out there that can't seem to tolerate other people based on religion, colour, sexual orientation. It's like we haven't moved on from the old day of ....."only certain colours on a bus".

It will be interesting to see how Ms Avis treats foreigners / minorities

Huckabee, like some other conservatives, argued that a 19^th-century ruling requiring discrimination against black people is similar to a 21^st-century ruling barring discrimination against LGBT people.

Politicians will say anything to get into office...but once they get in there, we all know what happens.
