I'm going to be buying some books shortly, so I was looking at the current Plum Points deal that Chapters/Indigo has. The deal is: 10X pts. wus $30+. So you would get 1500 pts. for spending $30, which equals about $3 (2500 pts. can be redeemed for $5). Seems alright, but not amazing.

So I am wondering does Chapters ever have better promotions than this? Have you ever got an amazing deal that earned you tons of Plum Points?

I've never really shopped for the deals there (usually because the deals and bonus points tend to come when the budget is tight... unlucky me), but I love the Plum Points anyways because it's something for the books I used to get for no points! I will have to keep my eyes open for more of the bonus points now!

I think Plum Rewards are worth it. I've redeemed a couple of times.

Sometimes there's personalized offers available. Plus, a few times a year, they offer a double Plum Rewards discount online for books (an extra 10% off instead of the usual 5%).

like any club offer i think it depends on just how much in general you spend at the store for me it wouldn't be worth it because chapters isn't all that accessible for me and the things i would buy there i find cheaper other places

In case if my sis, brother or bIL or me wants to buy books, at least that I could get points but my family is not a book lover, the books that mom and dad reads are chinese recipes books! Never really too literate even in Chinese mom dad would never read a Chinese novel!

I think they're more worth it now that you can accumulate and redeem plum points when you buy online, I only buy from them online so in the past I would only collect plum points when they had promos on kids books in store where the books cost the same online as in store. I figure like any reward program, go for it if they're things you buy anyway, you can just be more strategic when you make the purchase to coincide with these bonus offers to make it more worth your while.

Plum points are not worth it to me either, but I am also not a big reader. Even friends who purchase books frequently don't purchase because of the points. Most are able to find the same titles online (i.e. Amazon.ca) for less than Chapters and you don't even have to leave your home to get them.

Yes because it's free never got a lot of savings but again it's free. You should look on Amazon before buying at there you can almost always find a better deal

I went for the Plum Rewards card because I like I can earn points on non-book items. But I don't shop in the store often (but do like their lifestyle/gift ideas/card & wrap section plus of course magazines).
If I were to buy books often, the iRewards card with its annual fee would be the better option.

I usually order online and buy in store a few times a year. For me something is better than nothing and it's effortless. Don't earn as quickly as I used to but worth the wait once I redeem. Have $10 worth of points and saving it to use towards online Christmas shopping.
