I'm not too sure what you're trying to say. Good brands of quality pet food doesn't get much cheaper. The only way to get cheaper dog food is to buy the commercial brands from the regular store/grocery shops, which tends to go on sale and you can use coupons. But then that means lesser quality, pet needs to eat more because there's a lot of fillers and that also means more poop!

Bosley's in BC has a buy 10 get 1 free bag, the list of participant brands is on their website. They have their free membership benefits also listed on their website.
I go to Bosley's for my dogs food. I can't get it at big box stores so getting one free is the best deal I'll ever get.

I buy the small bags and get about one free bag a year. It works out to about $2 off per bag if you want to look at it that way. Dog food is the one of the few things where cost does not influence my purchase.

Bosley's will also price match - so check and see if anywhere sells your food for less.

    TALK TO THE BREEDER!!!
I have to tell you the BEST advice is always from the breeder...I have been arround dogs and breeders from 17+ years and they want to help you and have your puppy to live a long and healthy life. often times it's better to stay on the food your dog eats from the beginning. Too much change/variety of foods leads to a picky eater.
My sister's family have had labs for over 40+ years and their dogs are on Eukanuba. Their last lab lived till almost 14.
Good luck and congratulations with the puppy.!!

My 5 dogs, 4 eat Wellness and my newest puppy eats Acana from the makers of Orijen. Both are natural and very healthy. My family buys all organic for us so we are obviously going to buy the dogs the same. So far all my dogs love their food. My oldest dog is 16 right now. He's eating a mix between Halo and Wellness also a very good line of food. Dbf has a dalmation who is 18 years old! The breeder was giving our dog Royal Canine, really good food but I wanted my dog on something more rich. Remember be careful when selecting a breeder, we were lucky enough to pick up our dog at a home where both the parents were on site and the puppies were a mistake. Don't buy from puppy mills, these dogs suffer!!

    That is all.

I too buy the small 5.5lb bags, they're 23 bucks each so getting a free small bag is worth it. If I buy small bags all year I finish them faster and am closer to to my free bag.

We feed our dog Orijen. It is very high in protein and it is Canadian.
We get it at a store on Nebo Road in Hamilton- They also have the Buy 10 bags get one Free.
It takes my dog much longer to finish a bag of Orijen then the other grocery store type brands like Beneful or Purina ( bought for free or very cheap with coupons, of course) A big bag lasts about 2-3 months and I have a 60lb dog.
He can polish off an entire small bag of beneful in about two days. I usually have a refillable food dish for the Orijen but when I give him Beneful or Purina I have to limit him.

We are feeding Orijen but are in the process of switching/finding a new food because I want to see my dog on something with less protein. Sucks that we are on bag 9 but sometimes Bosley's is nice and will let you move in some of your bags to the new food.
