Not sure if this should go under the "Local" forum or not. I moved to TO from the east coast in September. I notice that there are so many more coupons available at stores here than my hometown (St. John's, NL), so I'm pretty pumped for that. I get my coupons from a variety of stores, and it's usually hit and miss. Sometimes I read in a thread that a certain coupon was found at SDM then when I go to look they are all gone or had never been there in the first place. Good places for coupons (in my opinion) are:
Metro (I usually go to Bathurst & Lawrence or Bathurst and Sheppard)
SDM (multiple, I like Yonge & Sheppard and Yonge & Finch)
and to a lesser extent:
Food Basics (Yonge & Finch)
Freshco (Bathurst & Steeles)
I usually avoid Loblaws stores because they only have Coupon Zone coupons, unless there is a really good sale. I find my local Sobeys (Yonge & St. Clair) very bad for coupons, pretty much stopped looking there. Also I've never found a single coupon at Walmart (Bloor & Dufferin or Bathurst & Centre St - Vaughan).
Not sure if you or others can suggest other places to try? I live close to the YUS subway line as well as several frequent bus routes, so I usually spend my Saturday mornings running all over the city to get the specials and good coupon deals. Hope this helps

Oh, I sometimes go to the Walmart at Bloor & Dufferin as well. I live right in downtown so it's quite hard to find coupons. My only sources are Shoppers and Rabba.

@nenaflores - I don't necessarily think you're doing anything wrong! It's difficult to go to a lot of different stores to hunt for coupons and sales if you have a full time job, raise kids or are in school. I usually don't have any time for couponing during the week, only on weekends. The first week or ten days of the month are when the new Smartsource coupons usually hit stores - I usually try to hit all my usual stores around them, perhaps on a Saturday morning/afternoon. I find Freshco doesn't always have many coupons - I've only picked up like 2 or 3 since I've been here. But more than Walmart! Most SDM's are reasonable, but there are likely exceptions to this as well.

I find SDM is the best for tearpad coupons (as long as you go pretty frequently, because lately it seems the tearpads are always empty very fast). For actual couponing, I've had the best luck at Zellers. Many times their prices are better than Walmart and the cashiers are a bit nicer because not as many people coupon there.

No matter where you shop there is usually always someone who is unfamiliar with the coupon policy. Don't be afraid to ask to speak with a supervisor or manager if you are having trouble with a cashier! Serious issues should be reported to head office.

In Downtown I go to:
Shopper's Drug Mart (almost anyone I've gone in has lots of coupons)
Sobey's (Urban Fresh or the regular grocery store) - However, they can be really tough with accepting coupons.
FreshCO - I've noticed JUST started carrying a few coupons. This is Freshco in the downtown core. Parliament and Queen area.
Metro - I'll cruise a metro at odd hours so I can pick up coupons. My fav is the one by Ryerson. That one has lots of great coupons. But, you have to pay $2 for parking unless you buy something.
That's it."I'd like to live as a poor man with lots of money."

SDM is usually good, but you have to walk up and down each aisle hunting for them
and also zellers and nofrills.

I've gotten my best coupons right here from trades with other members.
A lot of people trade bundles and you can choose the coupons you'd like.
