-
Sun, Nov 13th, 2011, 10:46 PM #1
This thread is solely for anything Keurig (incl. K-cups) Tell us your take on certain brewers or K-cups, or the K-cup holders.. or even customer service and place your buy your K-cups from.
I buy my K-cups from Giant tiger, Metro and Staples. between the three I have a pretty large selection I can buy from, but I think i'm going to do an order on the Keurig website for a couple of the 5-packs.
I have the Keurig Mini Plus Brewing System. I named him Joe.
So far I surprisingly like the bold K-cups coming from the variety pack I got when I bought the brewer. Wish I could remember the names.
ANYWAYS, Review on, coffee snobs!Previously CanadianBella... I'm baaack!

I have the special edition brewer--b60. It is great. I love the timothy's k-cups best. you can get them in all flavours right at timothy's coffee store. But ordering on line is easiest. The selection is phenomenal. My faves are the cinnamon pastry, german chocolate cake, sugar bush maple. I love my keurig!!

Van Heutte also has a great selection - my local gas station has over 30 flavors, and sell them by the box, or mix & match for a great price!!
Costco has the best deals I've been able to find - it's about 50 cents/k-cup. You get 80 k-cups for $39.99 - however there's only about 2 flavors to choose from..

I buy my Kcups at Keurig.com, more selection than anywhere and the price is fairly good.
DH likes flavoured coffees, while I like coffee-flavoured coffee that's fairly bold, but without that burnt taste that you get in the dark ones.
In our carousel right now there's a lot of variety. For regular coffee, there's Daybreak Morning Blend (Caribou), Breakfast in Bed (Wolfgang Puck), Donut Shop (Coffee People) and Newman's Special Blend Extra Bold (Newmans's Own Organics). For flavoured ones, there's Belgian Chocolate and Raspberry Chocolate Truffle (Van Houtte), Mudslide (Gloria Jeans)
I was into the Green Mountain Kona coffee for awhile, but they've apparently had a crop failure and it's not available right now. Donut Shop is good, but my regular daily coffee right now is Newmans Own Extra Bold. The Daybreak and Donut Shop are good, but don't quite fit my 'bold but not burnt' criteria.
They're my second choice after the Newmans. I find the Caribou are a bit sharper-tasting and I don't like them as well.

Has anyone bought the reusable KCup to make your own coffee? Or at least know what stores sell them. We just bought a Kuerig Monday, I checked out a few sites but I hate paying shipping & I don't really want to run to/all over Regina on a wild goose chase
I am currently looking for coupons for non parishable foods or grocery coupons good until December to help with Christmas food helpers.
If you have any to trade please PM me.

I've been thinking of buying a Keurig, and reading of all the different coffee flavours available is making me want to run out and buy one asap!
how about lattes and cappuccinos? does it make those too, like the Tassimo?

It doesn't make lattes and such like a Tassimo does. But I don't drink those, so I don't miss them.
They do make lots of different coffees, flavoured coffees, teas, etc.
Slaney, I have the my K cup thing, and wasn't happy with it. It dripped, and was a PITA to have to clean when you just want to make another cup of coffee that takes 60 seconds. And I wasn't impressed with the coffee that came out, but maybe I just didn't find the right grind or the right coffee.
Other companies make those now too, they're cheaper, but I don't know if they're better. I like to think of my family as fairly green (we don't even have a car for heaven's sake!), but I really like the convenience of those plastic k cups. DH and I each have one a day, so it's ideal for us.

Thanks! Home Outfitters in Regina has them for $13 but they were out of stock still last weekend. My hubby's so exited about getting one so it looks like we are no matter what anyone says

And Kuerig's do make Latte's too, you just gotta buy the $100 latte thingyI am currently looking for coupons for non parishable foods or grocery coupons good until December to help with Christmas food helpers.

The Machine - B70 - 5 different brewing sizes from espresso, to travel mug. Bought the Costco kit that came with the reusable filter, seems like a pain for me to clean so I was thinking of buying those small disposable filters.
The Store - I buy all my coffee from ecscoffee.com. 1 24ct box is $15.75 CDN. Buy 7 boxes, get an 8th full sized box free. Free Fed-Ex shipping on orders over $100. If you shop in store, you can sample a free coffee. They often have 24 packs on for $9.99 (Right now, Timothy's -Sweet Summer Raspberry and Caramel Vanilla Nut) They are $1 more then Keurig.com, however ecs doesn't charge a $10 processing fee, so you'd have to buy over 10 boxes before keurig.com was cheaper not including the few extra $'s on the exchange. Ecs also has a points system.
My K-cup - I have used it for Tim Hortons coffee, came out perfect brewing at 10oz, you also have to test the head clearance, as if you fill the thing to the rim, if water goes through it, it will overflow, you should only fill it about 3/4 of the filter.
Storage- Still working on that one, but I found a rack at Kitchen Stuff Plus for $12.99, it can stand up as a display rack or be mounted on a wall. If you have a handy husband, have him get an 1 1/2" hole drill bit and a thin piece of wood and volia, $5 k-cup rack and 30 min. of your time.
Blends - Timothy's Kalhua, Breakfast Blend, Sweet Summer Raspberry, Decaf Hazlenut, Winter Carnival, Van Houte French Vanilla, Caribou Caribou Blend, Coffee People Donut Shop, Folgers Vanilla Biscotti.
Lattes - I was considering getting the milk frother, as it would froth real milk, I do not like the milk matter pods the tassimo things have, they actually make me feel sick when I drink it, no idea why. However, ive been forbidden to make any sort of latte/cappucino drink on my Keurig until I sell my $500 Breville espresso machine -.- But when it comes to real, frothed milk vs. "milk pod" id go with real milk, and you can get milk frothers for way cheaper then $100, no need to get the Keurig brand
But ive wanted to test my machine with the espresso setting, though I really doubt it'd produce any sort of crema like my espresso machine does, which contributes a lot to the flavor of espresso beverages. I will test it when DH isn't home and report back lol

I broke down and bought a Keurig even though I have a TH's coffee maker because my H wanted it. I gotta say, I am kind of in love right now. I am a coffee snob and I absolutely hate drinking coffee that has been sitting for more than a few mins in the pot so this is a good solution for me.
I found the Keurig filter at WM.
I don't like flavored coffee normally but totally love the Green Mountain French Toast Blend. Love Wolfgang Puck's Bold. Timothy's Pumpkin Coffee is nasty though. Yuck.

If you like timmy's, you'll love Coffee People's Donut Shop coffee, or Timothy's Breakfast Blend

How did y'all like the Pumpkin freebie?
I was disapointed, to me it tasted like regular coffee with a LITTLE bit of flavor. I think if I use a flavored creamer, it'll taste like regular coffee. Ahwell, got a bunch o' 'regular' coffee

I didn't mind the Pumpkin coffee, I found I had to brew it on a larger size, because the 8oz had too strong of a pumpkin taste for me. Weird you couldn't taste it, I'm a smoker and am supposed to have crappier taste buds, and the pumpkin was still strong to me.
