I briefly looked if this was already mentioned so forgive me if it is posted elsewhere.
My RCSS as of April 15, will only price match Walmart, Foodland, Food Basics and No Frills. This stinks for me as a Freshco is 30 min away for me. I haven't pricematched at Walmart in forever but they may get my business now.
Plus there will be a limit of 4 items.
It's getting harder and harder to save money these days...less coupons available, limited price matching...This thread is currently associated with: Food Basics, Foodland, FreshCo, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore RCSS, Walmart

Oh no! I am wondering when this will come to my store...last time I was there they required a supervisor to do any price matches. It is bad enough to have them come to do over $10 in coupons but a simple price match...not thrilled

Darn it. If this is going to spread to all StupidStores, then I'll be shopping there much less than I did before.

I've never envoked a price match at a superstore, or any grocery store for that matter. I just watch the flyers and buy my stuff where the price is lower.
Seems like a lot of hassle to page and drag in the line supervisor for what can only be a buck or two on a few items.
(envoking the Scanning Code of Practice policy is just as painful, but if it gets me stuff for free, that's different.)
When it comes to the prices, I'd sooner just reward the one who has the better advertised price, with my business.
But then the Sobey's and Superstore in my area are practically a stone's throw from one another so it's no feat to shop one or the other, or heck both if I have to.Last edited by bhlombardy; Fri, Apr 8th, 2016 at 09:15 PM.

my local superstores do not price match no frills and SDM because are owned by the same company. No frills will price match but you cannot use coupons on the price matched item. When i asked why, the cashier told me it's the new policy but couldn't produce it in writing.

Strathroy Ontario.
bhlombardy- I price match because I only have a RCSS and a Walmart.
Frescho, NoFrills, Sobeys, Loblaws are all 30 min drive for me.
I price match 5+ different items each week with probably $20 or more savings each week. That adds up.
Also the time saving factor of price matching, even if all those stores were in my city, I would rather take a few mintues at the till (never had a supervisor called to price match) then drive to 4 different stores...

Drat. My usual PM is Cokes and I normally do 8.
Thanks for the heads up.

I can't imagine all stores will adhere to this list, we don't have a food land within 100 kms. I always pm at RCSS as No Frills now needs a supervisor. But if they really make this change I will miss earning the PC points but I can easily go to wherever the sale is.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

yikes! Guess I was lucky to PM today for some produce. Normally RCSS is out of my way but IF this new policy comes to the store I go to that will be one less place I'll be going to shop. Thanks for posting about this @web3

Mine also changed their PM policy. The limit is four and they won't PM all stores in the city, only select ones.

Booi My rcss is a good 30 min drive but they are the best with pming and coupons even if head cashier needs to approve multiple coupons
Won't be worth the drive for 4 items

My major groceries comes from RCSS so if that policy comes into effect at my store I will have to look to spend my money else where because I will be looking to save some money
