Just wondering what people are doing about gas prices going up.

I have found some deals here and there.
Costco's gas bar line up is crazy because their price is o.k.

Decided to work longer hours 4 days per week and take 1 day off to save on travel/gas costs.

Love to hear some ideas about saving gas costs.
    Thx!

It seems like a fair number of people stock up on CT GCs when they're 10% off. Some report they buy thousands of dollars worth. Paying with a cashback credit card lowers the net cost a little more. If buying at a CT isn't convenient, Petro Can and other gas station cards can sometimes be purchased with discounts, although smaller.

In my area it has been up to $1.30/L lately. Today it is at 1.26. I use a cashback credit card to help a bit. I also have a Petro Points card which I can use to redeem points for gas. Obviously using the vehicle less as well - walking, biking, public transit.

I filled up yesterday and prices here are from $1.39.9 litre to $1.44.9 litre....I use discount coupons that I get at Safeway when I shop there and then use the coupons at the gas bar.

I use the gas buddy app to see what the price is like where I am going. I am doing a lot of travel now due to the death of my dad and helping my mom pack up so every weekend its a almost 300kn round trip so if gas is cheap along the along the way I fill up. I also use the carrot app and turn my points into petro points which I then convert to 10 cents off a litre and I buy the CT gift cards when on a discount and get gas only when the bonus multiplier is on so I build up a nice stash of CT points (now called triangle) Thankfully I am a GO train commuter & can take the bus to the train station or just walk. Soon (I think July) PC MC will offer bonus PCO points at Esso so I will add that to the locations I buy gas.

Ever since getting my car last year, I've been trying to find new and creative ways to save money on gas and I think the best one for me personally is with CT GCs

I get 1% back (In PC Pts) when I buy the GCs
(I use to use Drop where I would get back 20pts/$1 = 2% EXTRA, but the app never works properly so I stopped using it)
I only ever get the GCs when they're 10% off (Normally SDM)
I get 2c/L off thanks to the CT Survey (On the back of the gas receipt)
I always try to align my gas purchases when the CT Money offer is best (About 4.5c/L)

It normally works out to $1.10 (When gas is $1.30) with all offers combined

I try to fill my tank when I am at home, another town close-ish always has CT Gas much cheaper ($1.379 in my hometown, $1.238 in the next town over - combine with all discounts and I can bring that down to $1.05ish)

I try to when I use the car -run a few errands at once -yesterday I went to Canadian tire for a rake -then across the street to marksworkwarehouse -then 3 minutes in same plaza did my grocery shop at no frills -I am always trying to go to a few different stores or do 3 or 4 errands errands that's for sure

oh and plus I have a petro points card
hubby has pioneer and esso cards for points if I ever fill up at esso I use aeroplan -so we always use the points cards also

p.s that is how I won a echo car from esso -from using a points card they had a contest and gave away 3 cars in Canada -of course this was 11 years ago and I no longer have the car

Wow--we are a creative group! I go to whomever can give me a deal that week. Last week I had 5000 bonus PCO pts for a $40 fill. This week my co=op has a $3.00 off coupon. Next week who knows!

The business has low working expenses. This implies costs must be low to debilitate makers, regardless of whether they are not accomplishing their coveted returns. Some cash is superior to no cash! So clearly 'high cost' limit keeps on providing barrels in low value situations.

    Some great savings ideas!
    Thanks!

I get most of my gas from my mystery shops. I get $15 - $20 in gas for completing the assignment. Usually do 3 - 4 a month.
