I was going to buy the Heys princess luggage for my daughter. Stock the pantry with peanut butter. I don't need any electronics, (the kids surely don't need any more games) so with the remainder I will buy diapers that are on clearance (if any left) and food to donate to food banks and womens shelters.

I think I FINALLY narrowed down my list for mega redemption... next year I hope to do 2 or 3 transactions of $250. I hope they have mega again next year... it's fantastic!!
Picking up prior to redemption:
2 x 30 dollar itunes GCs (3 x $10 pack) + 2500 BPs each
Redemption #1: $250
1 x Wii game $44.99
1 x Marc Jacobs sunglasses $125
1 x Fossil jewelry box $60
20.01+ of other stuff
Redemption #2: $125
1 x Sony digital photo frame 69.99 - 40% = 41.99
2 x Memory foam slippers @ 19.99
2 x Photo coaster 6.99
2 x Ferrero Rocher chocolates 8.99
11.07+ of other stuff
That should cover gifts (or parts of gifts in some cases) for my sister, good friend, two family friends, BF's parents and grandparents... oh and those sunglasses are for me.
Tried them on today and fell in LOVE!

Anne, your math is perfect.
I miscalculated 2 years ago - estimated I needed 65,000 pts per redemption, and forgot that I need to give 75,000 pts, then get 10,000 in return (the good old days) so I was short on points that last redemption - or I would have had 15.0 redemptions (duh!).
Because of my diabetes I spend $7200 on supplies per year, and shop for groceries and household etc. items every 20X promo, so spend at least $10K per year - that is 2 million points or 21 redemptions. Add on some lovely GC promos and I am getting at least 22-23 redemptions per year.
I am completely smitten with the SDM program. It has been a godsend to enable me to gift points to my mother who is living on a limited budget and donate gifts and items to various charities and fundraisers. And I can give lovely gifts to friends and family.

I went to shoppers to scout out the items I'm wanting to purchase and I noticed the Marc Jacob sunglasses I wanted went up in price from 79.99 to 115.00!!!
That's such a scam, I've been looking at those for 2 months now and they've always been 79.99 I'm not sure I'm going to redeem for those now.

I've noticed that they've advertised a few things at regular price in the flyer. If I spend $250, I'll have to pick up several overpriced filler items. If I spend $50 less at the bonus redemption, it may work out to be the same after all the extra dollars added from the "pseudo" sale items. If I use coupons, I'll have to buy more overpriced items.
I find that if you don't need baby items, over-the-counter vitamins and medications, perfumes, colognes, make up, electronics, gift sets, and other seasonal things, it's really hard to come up with much. After enlisting another person to help me spend my points, we came up with a whopping $11.97 (before tax).
If I wait until next year, prices may go up and the point value may stay the same, devaluing my current points.
Trying to spend that much at once is so stressful. I'd better sit this one out. I know it's "free" but I'd still like to get "good value free" as opposed to "overpriced free". You know what I mean...

I cannot wait for this mega redemption! When I bought a house and moved in September I gave away 90% of my stockpile to numerous charities. I completely under estimated how much cleaners and everything I go through!
I am on my last bottle of cleaner, no wipes, no laundry detergent, last 4 rolls of toilet paper, 1 more bag of bounty! My stockpile is non existent... I can't wait I have 5 redemptions to do and need to fill my stockpile and get Christmas presents for 15 people!

Only 11.97? I thought I was bad haha. Does your shoppers stock food items? You can always buy grocery staples. Milk, canned soup, cookies, etc. They add up really quick. I also try to buy "constant price" things, those that never really go on sale or life brand things if they are on sale and are good value. We are getting some cashews, peanuts, chocolates, etc. At $5 a bag, they add up real quick. Anyways, you know what you need best. Don't listen to me babble....lol

I am considering getting one but not sure of the actual price on Sat.
The 2 days electronic sale - $149 (reg $199)
The rest of this week - $169
Then on the flyer for Mega redemption -> clearance Sony "up to" 40% off. I won't redeem if it goes more than $169. As Sony store was selling $149 + $25 off (if you have the Buy $100+ get $25 off coupon)

I have absolutely no idea what to buy. I wish I could convince my mom to drive into the city so I'd have a car. I was so excited to get my free $250. I can't wait until next year when I'll be able to wow the newbies with my jaw dropping 4 redemptions! I am so making my mom and hubby sign up for an Optimum card! LOL.

This is what I think. This flyer nothing that great. even if they are giving $80 extra for redeeming 95000 points but i believe it will be same if we do during regular redemptions.
Knowing power of coupons I feel bad if i full price for an item even during redemption.
i have 5 month old baby and dont need much electronoics games right now.
Its hard for me to come with a list for 1 or 2 redemption. I am planning to buy some stuff now for shelter.

I have 105,000 points to use, but in the past, I've seen how people use their first redemption to get more of the bonus points to claim a second redemption. I would love to get up to another redemption level (preferrably the 50,000) to get more goodies! Any ideas?! I am looking at getting some electronics, but mine didn't have all the fun ones that I'm seeing on here! I think I need to go searching through my town today!!! SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!
