I was at Pharma Plus today and I bought some Playtex Tampons. It had a $2 off Peelie on it and so did all the rest of the boxes. When I was paying for it the cashier mentioned that the expiry was Dec 2012 and I should grab a few more (she coupons apparently). I told her I only wanted the one box today and she said oh, those peelies get added all the time, they're not specific to the box and that there's no rule that you can't take them. I went and got a few more, but a friend of mine thought that was crossing the line. i'm now feeling a bit guilty. Anyone know what the actual deal with peelies is??

I dont know. I dont like the thought of taking something off a product, in my mind it belongs with the product.

That being said, sometimes people forget to use a peelie (I did that this weekend at redemption, I used SS coupons and forgot about the peelie, so I'll use them later). Or if I saw a lot of products with peelies that expire fairly soon and another store had that product for sale, I'd might grab a few and use them at the other store.

I guess it all depends on the person and circumstance.

For me, even if I knew the peelies got put there all the time, I'd still leave them be. I suppose it's because I'd want one to be there for me if I were buying the product.

This has been asked on SC before and the general consensus is that if there's a coupon attached to the product, it's meant to be used for that product at the time of purchase. Don't feel guilty though. The cashier gave you permission.
