Expired on: Mon, Jan 2nd, 2017Having seen a very valid concern by another Smart Canuck about finding out that there are stores that won't take a mall gift card for purchases, I thought in the spirit of saving the shoppers some time to list gift card exclusions by mall. Thus you have advance notice that other tender will be needed at those stores.
Should make this a wiki thread.

Burlington Mall-Riocan
The following stores/services are not able to accept mall gift cards:
Stores: Bell World, Best Stitches, Beverley Hills Windows, Burlington Lotto & Dollarama
Services: Cogeco, GoodLife Fitness & Office Galleria
Food Court: Freshly Squeezed & Jasmine Rice
Using the CF SHOP! card is easy and convenient. The CF SHOP! card is currently redeemable at more than 95% of Cadillac Fairview retailers. As participation is voluntary, and may vary from centre to centre, it is a good idea to check cfshops.com for a complete list of stores.

Another thing to consider which I just recently learned is some stores in our Mall will accept the Mall Gift Card but instead of removing what you spent from the gift card they give you your "change" on their own Gift Card.
Example you have $100 Mall Gift Card, you purchase a $15 item instead of removing the $15 from your Mall Gift Card leaving you with $85 to spent in the Mall they give you their Store Gift Card for $85 forcing you to spend the remaining amount in their store.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
follow along as tackle day to day life and whatever else 2021 throws at me:

another thing i've learned with mall gift cards is they can charge you an "inactive" fee after a set amount of months so the cards can essentially expire(the fee will just slowly eat up the card balance until there is nothing left)..and some places you can't transfer the balance to a new card to prevent getting hit with the inactive fee
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....
