My god he's a cute one!
@vino_er_coach , I know it might sound like a bit of a dumb question, but have you tried moving the training pad (literally) a few inches to the side? actually moving it to the spot where your puppy is doing his business right beside where you have it now?
Maybe it's just the spot you have the training pad right now that he's not fond of. Since we trained Cooper to do his business along the bush/fence line, he gets very picky about the spots he chooses to go. He'll spend a few minutes looking for just the right spot to go!
Either way @danger_dan , that's a no-fly zone :hahaha:
Morning all.
Uber sore today...I'm just a glutton for punishment...3+ bush cords or fire wood cleared, blocked, split, moved, and stacked. ready for use...next year.
Hope everyone is doing well and not ailing too much.
Have a wonderful day folks.
Stay warm, the cooler weather is creeping in.
then you're going to need one of these...

What a sweet little soul. I agree with Dan, move the paper to where he likes to go....we've trained 3 dogs in our lifetime, puppy pads are ideal, but leave a little of his piddle on it even a paper towel that you used to clean up his mistakes. Lots of happy attention when he gets it right or even gets closer. Never scold or do any other old-school nonsense....they want to please us, but they're so young to figure out what it is we need. He likely feels that if his front paws are on the pads, his bottom must be, too! :) Take him to the pad very regularly, after play, after he eats...he'll get it as soon as he knows where his hind end is....make sure you put down a large puppy pad area. For some reason our pups never took to newspaper... maybe it's the smell? Patience is key, food rewards when he gets it right....he's adorable! :)
As for cats and your pup they'll figure it all out soon enough, they have strong inclinations to protect us, and it may just be a puppy way to play, esp if his front paws are down, rump up....play time! Lol!
Oh wow @danger_dan we are like twins!! I too am a glutton for punishment and just pulled 12 oversized extra sharp cheddar cheese muffins from the oven....Whew! I am beat!
It's the same as what you did right?
( kidding )
Oh that puppy!!! Who can resist that puss?
So obviously I have the day off today ( from driving anyone anywhere.....you know who you are! ) and got it in my head that we needed some warm cheese muffins.
Hope everyone is tuned in tonight to ( hopefully ) watch the Tampa Rays push a game 7 OR watch the Dodgers win the World Series trophy. Either way have fun!!
And one of these to go with it :hahaha:

If you didn't live on the other side, I'd be knocking on your door for some of those muffins @walkonby , masks be damned! There's home-baked goods involved! LOL!!
Thanks for the suggestion about leaving a bit of wet paper towel on it. I will give that a shot.
The suggestion about moving it over a bit from you and @Dang erdan.....tried it. Failed.
Little bugger just extended his surroundings. He started doing it on the other side of the room and going down my hall.
I watched a few videos online about his breed and got some overall training tips....he is for sure being rewarded. His breed is a tough one to train, so whomever has the coffee on now....I will take a big mug...going to be a long day.
Hope everyone is having a good one!
