As a teen, I think it got more real for us once the funeral was over, the family had all gone back home and we were heading back to school (my dad died over the Xmas holidays so we had some time before heading back to school).
I remember a huge fight with my mum that weekend over putting photos back in the wrong order, drama queen!

@Darth Penguin , it's all so sad but true: when it finally quiets down we're left on our own, with our thoughts and memories. I hope you and your children find the strength to get through the days ahead sharing those memories and some smiles. My Dad also passed away at Christmas, Dec 22nd, so I know how difficult it can be...it's an emotional rollercoaster and we all grieve differently. Be patient with each other, share lots of hugs...God bless...
