Chat-a-Thon 2017-18 Thread!

Went for dentist appointment this morning. Teeth were better than I thought they were. I haven't been to the dentist in years because I can't afford it and didn't have insurance. Anyway welfare covers up to $500 per year but only for emergency stuff. Dentist said they will have to pull 2 teeth on either side of my mouth which I already suspected. They said one of them is a tooth that should have been pulled as a teen. They also found 2 cavities which is great because I haven't been in years. The total comes to $702 but since welfare only covers $500 they will pull the 2 teeth June 13th and worry about filling the cavities in January. She said my root structure is good and overall my teeth are good.

Ouch! That puts a "dent" in the wallet!

The whole thing will be covered by welfare. Dentist just has to do part now and the rest in the new year. Only thing I can't get done right now is a teeth cleaning which isn't covered by welfare. I'll try to save up some money for that.

Yes rhubard is so delicious.!!!! :) My uncle have some in his garden and we love strawberries and rhubard pudding or tarts or jam ...oh the old days..I miss those....My sold house had some plant but they where not good with the soil....I will buy some rhubard at public harvest this summer and ask the recepie to my uncle...I will try to remember that.

Oh thank the heavens for gluten-free pasta on our grocery shelves!! I made an alfredo sauce with bacon, stirred it into the pasta, topped with those incredible big parmessan shards from Costco, baked, then sprinkled with green onions...we loved it! This going GF is becoming a snap!! :cheesygrin:
@cabmonk , it's always such a wonderful surprise when a dentist visit doesn't result in...ugh...lots of work needing to be done!! I thank my hygenist who I see every 3 months for keeping me away from "him"...:) I really do hate dentists!!!

Another warm start to the day, although it's not supposed to get uber hot today.

Paperwork, errands, dr. appointments, and then a rush hour commute home...going to be a long day.

More purging going on around here, but omgoodness, what to do with my set of Royal Dalton dinnerware! Kids these days don't want stuff like that because {{{horrors!}}} they'd have to wash them by hand!! CAN you imagine?! hahaha....Each piece was given to us as wedding gifts and we always used them for dinner parties, holidays, but now? Okay, even I don't want to hand wash them for everyday dinnerware! I recall my last BFF chatting about her Royal Dalton figurines that her two daughters gave her, adding to her collection of 'beautiful things', and how they didn't want them, either. I guess they'll all go on ebay to be purchased by the handful of older ladies who still collect those things...they even buy them off the shopping channel! So they're out there! Weird times.....

Well, enough of that nonsense, I hope you all can take time to enjoy the sunshine today; stay safe, be happy!
