If they are right about meat prices going up:

• Price match
• Use your PC Plus points or Air Miles points etc and rebates, to buy meat
• Use rip and stick discounts on meat (Metro, Sobeys, Food Basics) or 30% off pink sticker discounts or 50% pink sticker discounts

Remember the $7.49 Romaine lettuce scare.

Lettuce went down to $1.xx or reasonable prices some months later (Giant Tiger has iceberg lettuce for $1.50 this week).

Freshco has some good pasta prices this week. If no Freshco near by, price match where they let you


I agree with you about recent Food Basics prices. Sometime even the sister store, Metro, is cheaper than Food Basics.
