I'm sure the title line isn't news to those who have been at this for a while, but I'm still new enough to be truly noticing things for the first time. The thing that struck me as strange today after I saw my new personal offers yesterday and this morning is that even though the only wus offers I've redeemed lately are:
8000 bonus wus $30 twice
20x wus $30 twice
brands we love 4000 bonus wus $15
the algorithm decided to send me:
5000 bonus wus $35 only valid on Monday
8000 bonus wus $75
brands we love
It almost feels like the algorithm decided to punish me instead of reinforcing me.This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug Mart

Mon offer would be a generic everyone got it. Both shopping buddy and myself have it.
4000bp wus $15 is a promo offer that everyone gets when loaded
8000bp large offer would also be more generic. Both of us got 8k wus $30 OTC
small offers this week are all items we have bought in the past (or similar items) with the except of one. 15x Live Clean would be a promo or might like this item
I participated in the Kotex bonus points offer and now this week I have a 15x offer.
Small offers fall in the categories of what you bought in the past, similar/complimentary to items you bought, promos or might like this based on demographics

Word of advice - sign up a spouse, parent, child (someone else) so that you have two cards to work off of. Pick whichever offers are the best and use that card for that trip. Points are totally (and instantaneously) transferable, so it works out great! I juggle my sister-in-laws, dad's, and my card. Sometimes we get similar offers, but often they are different. For example, our Monday offers are 15x on $30+, 6000 on $40, and 20x on $40

We're only a two-person household, but my wife does have her own card, so we've seen that each of us gets a partly different set of offers each week.
Still seems quite odd intuitively that although the algorithm has data showing I've never redeemed a wus on almost anything offer for more than $30, the only two it sent me are for more, and also that both are for lower % rewards than any of the ones I've redeemed.

I don't have all the records, but it looks like if you go and spend more, you get offers to spend more $ and get XXXX points. I basically go there to buy eggs and milk and other sale items. I don't aim to hit bonus offer unless there's extremely good sales. Once in Spring, I got an offer spend $60 in total in 2 months and receive XXXX points. (Sorry, but I can't remember the points amount as I can't go back that far.) I ended up spent $60 in total in time and I was awarded that offer. I was hoping to receive that offer again, but I haven't received it so far. I guess they are testing it out?
One Saturday, there was an in-store offer, spend either $50 or $75 and receive 20 x points. As my husband's card had, spend $25 and receive 20 x, I was just aiming to hit $25 and at a cash, I was asked if I am not aiming to hit $50 or $75 (I go there so often, she knows me.), but why do I need to aim $50 or $75 when I only need $25 to get 20 x. (But she didn't know my personal offers.)
Once I had only 3 offers that I wasn't even consider using. Then, next week, I got very nice offers. (Sorry, but I can't remember exactly what offers that I got.)Last edited by agarla; Tue, Jul 11th, 2017 at 02:24 PM.
