i was browsing amazon.ca for things to buy with future gcs. i saw a book i would really, really love to own, from a seller. regular amazon price was ~$12.00, but seller had it for 10c, so even with the extra shipping (6.49), it's a great deal. i went partway through the checkout to see what the total with tax and minus a $5 gift card would be, but i came upon this: "Your order contains items from sellers who do not accept payment via Amazon Gift Certificates." so i can't buy it with gcs. and i'm too cheap to buy it myself. i love amazon, but this makes me love it a little bit less.

i read that when i first sighed up. so now i always make sure the product is from amazon and not some seller.

That's because it's from the "amazon marketplace", which I equate to an online classified section. You are basically buying directly from a 3rd party, Amazon just facilitates it. There are a lot of notes stating that Gift Cards/certificates/codes can't be used on the marketplace.

It does kinda suck for us trying to get good deals, but it makes sense. As a 3rd party, why would you want to be paid in amazon gift cards...

Went to the link. Is it just me or is she trying to lure people into taking a trip with God?. At the beginning it was about coupons (I figured it was how to use coupons etc). If you read below its all about God.
