Can you get points on SDM gift cards?

I saw someone mention something about buying a SDM gift card and using it to shop...do you get optimum points on the gift cards ?

Yes, thats the point of getting one to shop with, you get double the points; once when you buy it, then again when ou use it to pay with. Isn't that fantastic!!

I am in Ontario, and you receive points for the SDM gift cards - I buy GCs a day or two before I'm going to use it since I'm usually near by anyway & do not want to have to wait in line at the cash twice on 20x days.

In their ToS all optimum holders can receive points on SDM gift cards, most cashiers think otherwise but just tell them to scan the card, or get a pack of gum or something with it

What happens if you buy a shoppers GC And pay with a GC? I was thinking about that today. I got 1000 points for buying a 100$ gc would I get another 1000 points again? Lol

You would but the cashiers may refuse as its just a waste of the cards, you do it to get your shopping so you buy a GC for $100 (1000 base) and use it for shopping for $100 inc tax (say approx $130 with coupons = 1300 base) and for $100 OOP you get base points for $230 and that gets you closer to Plus

I can honestly say that I have never received additional points for using an SDM gift card; can anyone else confirm this?
