Thanks OP!
I put a piece of crystal such as amethyst or flourite on my forehead, close my eyes and concentrate on breathing & focusing on that crystal. Sometime the headache goes away...

WSIB is notorious for not paying out & playing hard ball. They don't really care whether you are injured or not.
I know a couple of Eligibility Adjudicator and Case Manager who work at the Front Street office in down town Toronto. Both of them are well known tools ..LOL.
Meanwhile a CSR at WSIB is making between $ 50 K to $ 55 K salary answering phones, with fantastic benefits & pensions, just to answer a bunch of phones.
The Case Managers are pulling in close to $ 100 K. Most of them have more files than they can handle, but they don't really care as the salary keeps them going.
Without lawyers & your doctor & really really being on your side, WSIB will play hard ball. Even the employer doesn't care, as admitting anything will lead to fines, penalties & investigations - they don't want that.
If he has a Union, ask them to get involved to fight the WSIB. Or very soon some Return To Work Specialist from WSIB will be on his ass to get back to work, even if he is injured.
The employer usually lies and tells WSIB a whole different story

Not unionized, his doctor has written him off work with no modified duties for a minimum of 6 months but that would be for a desk job which is not possible at his work (construction).
He will be in physio for at least 9 months once his bones heal enough to start too so the doctor's estimate for going back full time is a year.
So far WSIB is claiming they don't even have his forms despite our confirmation number so we just resubmitted them pushing any claim back further.

Yup WSIB is a complicated mess. If they ( WSIB ) pay out the employer's yearly WSIB premiums go up, hence employers also fight you in addition to WSIB fighting you.
1. You have to go on EI Sickness benefits till WSIB pays you. But you only get EI sickness for 15 weeks, unlike Regular EI upto 45 weeks.
When WSIB pays you a lump sum (usually) , you have to inform EI Sickness, EI then tries to claw back retroactive some of the EI they gave you, for the days EI Sickness & WSIB over lap each other. As you can't claim both.
2. If he has Long Term Disability from his workplace - Private Insurance - he can go on that.
3. He can also go on CPP Disability if he wants & if he is eligible for it .
EI Sickness, CPP Disabilty, WSIB payment. Private/Employer Long Term Disability - Lot of permutations & combinations. None of them are really on your side, you have to fight out & see what's best for you & your family . They are not doing you any favours by paying you, you have paid into the system, just like any other insurance & now you are injured they owe you.
