Canadian Tire Money changes

I just read a story about changes coming to Canadian Tire Money - this spring it will be possible to earn and redeem at all of the Canadian Tire-owned stores, including Mark's, Sport Chek and Atmosphere. They're going to change the name of the rewards program to Triangle, new cards, etc. will be coming. Hope this runs a bit more smoothly than the transition to PC Optimum!

There was no mention of it in the story, but maybe they'll start taking it at the other stores too.

They already use the Canadian Tire card in Marks. There was an offer, spend $100 and get $25 in Canadian Tire money on your card (on top of the normal money you would get)

Looked at some articles online, and If I'm reading everything right, It looks like you might be able to start using your CT Money at the Gas+ Stations. This would be amazing if I can use my money I stockpile at the gas station since I currently can't, I normally end up letting my father use my money and he pays me for it since I don't buy anything at the CT stores themselves.

All I can say is I hope they keep the money multiplier days for gas!

Just to shed some clarity on this:


Simply put, the new Triangle card/app will essentially be replacing the CT Money card.


There's not really a major change here.

You've already been able to EARN at those three locations (Mark's, SportCheck, and Atmosphere) but ONLY using the CT Money Card (or app)...
They did not (and will not) handle the paper CT Money. See here:

The coming changes will allow you to REDEEM at those stores as well using the new Triangle program -- but still NOT at The Gas+ locations. (see below)

What HASNT changed:

Nothing has changed about the Gas+ locations... you can still earn CT Money there (paper, CT Money card/app, and soon the new Triangle), but you will still be unable to redeem there.

Nothing has changed about the PAPER CT-Money either... as to where you earn it (at CT Stores, or Gas+ locations), or can redeem it (at CT stores only).
There has been no conversation about the future of the paper money as of yet.

Unfortunately nothing has changed about the Gas+ locations and how they will handle the new program. You will still be unable to redeem at those locations.



In the past you HAVE been able to buy GiftCards at the CT Stores with CT money... which in turn you can use at the Gas+ locations.

The last time I did this was about 5 years ago. so I'm not sure if you can still do this or not. Worth a try though if you have no other outlet for your CT Money.

Earn $.004 per every $1 spent with a standard eCT money benefits card (get free from Canadian Tire stores) - except for gas purchases.

However if you use the Canadian Tire Options credit card, it's earns a multiplier of 10x, so earn $.04 per every $1 spent.

Again, it's just a re-branding of the "My Canadian Tire Money" program... everything else is pretty much the same with the added ability to redeem at the other branded stores.

Last time I went to Marks I used my CT card! That was a couple of months ago!

Sometimes the flyers contain 25x multiplier items, if they suit your needs, you can earn faster.

Supposedly a new Mark's store is coming to the Cdn Tire location (part of the parking lot has had some services put in) in Ancaster. Don't know if that means the Meadowlands store will remain open or move to new site. Would make it handier to check out the clothing specials and take advantage of saving $10 on $50 of purchases with the savings card (like on the new flyer).
