We bought maple syrup there and then found out that we saved a lot of money.
President's Choice malple syrup 500 ml $9.99 (sale price)
Costco maple syrup 1000 ml $11.99 (regular price.)
We got double the maple syrup and saved 60%!

You can find all sorts of great deals at Costco but I shop less there than I used to.
We always check there for item when we are renovating as their price on fixtures is amazing...
I find their prices of sliced bread is very comparable to sale prices at the grocery store
We also check electronics there...
we buy gum there in bulk (much better than the store) and I've bought jeans and trackpants for DH there...
What I've learned is that I have to break it down to price per unit..once you get accustomed to doing that, then you become a really savvy shopper.
ETA: We also got a Costco AMEX...the rewards are great...and the membership we have though it is more expensive, we end up making it all back at the end of the year so the membership costs us nothing.Last edited by mpbabes; Tue, Jan 3rd, 2012 at 12:44 PM.

I LOVE Costco, i don't get my meat anywhere else, the quality is amazing! We also buy milk, bread, and a few other items there. I go in with a plan and budget and stick with it. Get what we need and go. I have the executive membership and i end up geting my membership paid for! And i agree with everyone else you do need to know your prices. And i love the produce, big bag of bananas for $1.99 awesome! And Now Costco is coming sometime to Guelph, the plan is in the owrks, so that will save some driving time.

We're huge Costco shoppers. Some of our favorites...
-frozen berries are a great deal (made me ill when I paid what I did at Safeway last time) and sooo good
-Towels, area rugs, sheets (9.97 for my daughter's set and wear very well)
-all our meat and bread
-toys, books
-K-cups and Agave sweetener for hubby
-Kirkland baby wipes are awesome
-maple syrup
-big triangle buns (not sure what they're called by they're great)
-laminate flooring was a great deal and DH was very happy with the quality
-bedroom suite for ODD (couldn't find a better price or quality anywhere else)
-matresses for us and ODD (very comfortable and good prices)
-clothes for the girls
-roasted chicken - I think they're bigger than other stores and you can't beat $7.49 for 2-3 meals
-the 9 Bean Soup Mix is AWESOME and cheap!
-Annie's brand boxed macaroni and cheese (80% organic ingredients)
I could go on and on! I don't have as much time to coupon and search for sales so I'm happy with the prices we get there. Our executive membership pays for itself. And the location is convenient being it's on the edge of the city and we're in a smaller city (with 1 crappy grocery store!) 8 minutes away.Last edited by sarajen; Tue, Jan 3rd, 2012 at 05:00 PM.

Sensodyne is usually a package of 4 for $9.99, which is cheaper than what it sells here with coupons.
