Thanks I use both my Ipod touch and Android phone as a Kindle. There are free converters on the web to convert kindle files to the standard epub that most readers use

I got excited when I read your post. BUT, when I clicked on 3 different books, it said that the titles were not available in Canada. What a bummer. Did you research this yourself before posting?

It seems like just the Jane Austen ones aren't available in Canada, I clicked on a bunch of the other authors and they were available.

If you go to the Manage Your Kindle page and click on Country Settings you can switch your country to USA. Go back to the product page and refresh. It will let you purchase the book and download to your device of choice. Then just switch back to CANADA after it's downloaded!
I do this all the time for free books only available in the US. Never had a problem doing it. After switching your book is still there so you don't lose it.

Is it the Samsung Galaxy Tablet? Do those run Android? If so you don't need to convert anything. Just download the Kindle for Android app to your galaxy tablet and purchase the free books. You can send them straight to your tablet.

The Kindle App for iPod is available right in the itunes store. You shouldn't need to convert anything. Just purchase the free books and send them to your kindle app on your ipod. Kindle books come with DRM, so unless you are willing to learn how to strip DRM from the books and then convert them to another format (epub) it's just easier to use the app.
