thank you for starting this!!!!
June already oh my!!! Time to plan some summer fun! Getting the beach stuff organized this weekend :)
Good Morning Everyone,
I cannot believe it is June already. I feel like this year is flying by.
Was up early today and did not sleep well. Still scared for the surgery but cannot wait for it to be over and hopefully get back to sleeping through the night. Also I feel like everything is setting off my Gallbladder.
Decided to take advantage of being up early and got the laundry started. I find right now if I want to get anything done, I have to do it in the morning as I crash hard in the afternoons. I have a few other things I want to get done today but we will see how the day goes.
I had mentioned awhile back Mom had an opportunity which it appears has fallen through. They were looking for someone to cover a manager for Mat leave in another store and she was offered the job but it appears they did not have everything in place, it seems like what was presented to her was not really the case. I was hesitant as the store is about an hour to hour & half drive away but Mom said she was okay with it. She did the first interview all was good she was told she their number one choice but had to meet with the district manager to discuss money. This meeting never came and the last two times she called to follow up she was blown off by the manager. The person goes on Mat leave soon (within the next 2 weeks) so we are guessing her getting the job is off the table.
Off to have some breakfast and see what I can get done today. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Went to the SDM grand opening. Got a free bag of cookies for the boys. No real deals didn't spend a penny. They were giving out a slice of cake too.
Came home and unpacked bags from night away. All laundry is washed and hanging to dry. Kitchen is spotless and grass had the 1st cut of the year! Just had a shower and will get dressed and hit No Frills. I want a pair of Birkenstocks but the store in town has no selection so think i will hit Tanger outlets tomorrow and Georgian Downs on way home and use $75 free slot play!
Can hardly believe it is June! DH and I work until June 25 and then head East for some visiting. It continued very warm here all week and luckily the heavy forest fire smoke from yesterday has now blown out of town. DH and I did some chores today including heavy pruning of a crab apple tree that did not fare well over winter-it will either live or die! We hope it will survive but...
I expect my DH will drive back home after about 3.5 weeks on the road-I think I will stay on with with my Mum for a few extra weeks and try to get her back to independent living-if possible. Then I will fly home. Mum is talking about moving back to Alberta in the fall which would be great for her as we kids who live out here who are no longer working FT have more time to give her a hand.
We have hired the 2 children of the Grade 1 teacher I assist to come and check our home while we are away-they are thrilled to be able to earn some pocket money.
DD is still visiting the East Coast with friends but will start her summer job in a few days in Ontario. I booked a trip for DD and I in Feb to Kauai which should be a very nice winter break.
SA-all the best with your surgery this week. I am certain everything will go well for you and after a few days recovery I am sure you will be feeling so much better! Speaking of surgery we found out DH will be referred for a hip replacement but I expect the wait will be quite long.
Thanks Lizzie.
Okay today did not go as planned, Laundry is done, folded and put away. That is all I got done as I started to not feel well but it wasn't my gallbladder it was my actually tummy this time. So I decided to take it easy and have spent most of the day laying down, although I was not able to actually fall asleep.
To all the ladies who have had their Gallbladder out, right after surgery what was your diet like? I know nothing High in Fat, Deep Fried. But talking to people I know who had it done I am getting mixed message on the 2 to 3 days after surgery. 1 Person told me liquid for a week, Other said liquid for 2 to 3 then soft foods. Other have said soft foods for a week. I am prepared for a soft food diet but not if they tell me liquids only.

today is spa day. :) hubby gave me a gc for me and 2 of my kids. it was very sweet. not something i would do .... but so nice.
and peoples messaged ... my ring was in.. so i picked it up. fits well... and my fingers are all sparkly.
afternoon all. grocery shopping done. 18300 pc pts. groceries are all put away. veggie tray remade for the next few days. fridge cleaned out.
i am heading out for a couple hours of gardening and yard cleaning. might cash in some airmiles for soil for the side flower bed... and mulch.. need mulch as well...
supper will be bbq burgers, sausage and boneless chicken breasts... add veggie tray.. and coleslaw from fridge.. and volia .. done and hopefully enough bbq stuff for supper tomorrow night as well.
with any bit of luck it will be a good gardening week... and i can finally get stuff in shape.
I used air miles to pick up the few groceries we needed and still received 25 BAM for spending 25.00. I had over 350.00 in AM so wanted to use some up to reduce grocery costs this month. Used 60.00 in PCO @ No Frills Saturday.
Plan to finish the gardens today. Sad to see the end of my mini vacation but I got a lot done and that was the plan.
Good Morning Everyone,
I was up early this morning so I took advantage of the time to get a couple things done, I did not get done yesterday.
The dishwasher should have been turned on last night after dinner but I was so tired and just wanted to go to bed that I ran it this morning. Once it was done I emptied it and started to re load it. Also just tidied up the kitchen in general.
I was going to try to tackle a few things once Mom left for work but she is not feeling well now so has called in sick. Hopeful it is either what I had yesterday or is just her body and no some sort of virus or flu, I cannot get sick before surgery. A co worker's daughter got sick a week before her surgery (for something different) and when she went to re schedule got re schedule for 6 months later.
I still have/had my snow tires on my car so last week Dad told me to he would get my car serviced this week since I am off anyways and won't be able to drive. Well on Friday I was walking through Dad's assistant office who asked me where my car was? (I thought it was a trick question) Um in the parking lot, she then told me they were coming to get my car because in error the tires that went up in bro's car are actually mine so they needed to send my car with his tires. Then it turned out Dad's car went up with bro's tires and bro's tires are now on Dad's car so we had to find a set that would fit bro's car, I assume they sent Dad's tires but I was staying out of it. So now I am guessing my car will come back Tuesday but obviously I cannot drive so I quickly cleaned out my car and did a quick tidy up in case someone else ends up driving it until I get back. Luckily I do not keep a lot in my car so it was quick to tidy up.
I think this afternoon I will get everything ready that I need to take with me for my surgery and also organize all of my after surgery foods. My surgery is a day surgery and from what I hear after coming out of surgery you do not stay long before they release you but for some reason I have a whole list of things I am supposed to bring. I think it is just in case you end up staying which I guess I get but just seems strange as a number of my family members have had day surgeries and all said they were not told to bring all of this stuff. Oh well it says to bring it so I will.
Hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon.
@lilo0003 What a coincidence! This morning at Metro while buying my coffee cream I grabbed a tray of thick pork chops, a pork loin roast and a few of " this and that" and before I knew it I had a bill well over $70.00. I forgot all about the digital offer I loaded for the 25 AM wys $25.00 . It felt right to cash in some AM ( I have too many not to use some up ). Free groceries always feels good doesn't it??
afternoon -sassy i cant even remember if it was liquids or soft foods since it was 35 years ago since i had my gallbladder out

Morning!
I had a fun shop on Sat I spent $26 on a basil potted plant, a whole watermelon, bunch of bananas, 2 orange peppers, 4 pineapples, bag of McCain fries, 8 Kind bars, 4x French's 1L ketchup 4 x Breyers non dairy ice cream.. I price matched, used $15 in coupons and received back almost 5,000 Pc pts.
Was able to stop at a Loblaw's yesterday while traveling with a friend and bought 5 x Dove shampoo/cond and 6 x Dove bar soap and used the coupons. The cashier took off an extra $1.50 coupon I noticed once home which was a bonus!
We ended up near the casino at 8pm last night so went in to have dinner and watch the 1st half of raptors game. We split a large salad and pizza. And ordered chicken parm and butter chicken to take home for our lunch/dinner today. Just ate for free and left :) Went home and enjoyed a glass of wine while watching the last bit of the game. It was a busy weekend and I slept well.
@Giseledta . What is the best way to re-plant the basil plant. In the ground or in a large pot? I'm hoping to have lots to freeze for winter use.
Personally i would do a large pot. https://www.thekitchn.com/everything...g-basil-221272
adding every fall i make up a pot of various herbs to grow inside... basil, roasemary.. sage .. thyme.. .. love fresh herbs i can usually keep them alive till ... feb area...
Was delighted to finish weeding and turning garden soil over last Friday morning then sowed seeds for most things in one half of the garden! Mind you, my body protested all weekend. Mom's keen to use the other half of the garden-it's on her to sow seeds or plant nursery stock. I also put out a plastic barrel (scrubbed it mind you-not sure what the ooze drips were but label says BASF so Ms. Palmolive detergent got some action with a scrub brush on the interior and exterior of the barrel) to collect rain (not much saved given the Saturday night and early Sunday rains). I too want some basil in the garden--was looking at seed packs on Sunday but dithered, so I did not buy any. Maybe I'll get a packet in town and get the basil into the ground later this week. I have two mesclun lettuce mixes sown, lavender, oriental poppy, alyssum (yes I want some flower power in the garden for bee action), green snap peas, Nantes carrots (yes, I have to keep on top of watering or face forked roots), tarragon, rosemary (as a border around most of garden-2 pkts and need 1 more), & red radishes. I will be truly surprised if I do see something growing or harvestable in each area planted. Oh yes, I tossed 12 of the San Marzano tomato seeds down as well, and three parsley seed mats my late Dad had a packet of. Ought to be interesting and the fishing net cover is actually a rectangular float cover of a kind, held down by 8 plastic garden stakes (see the benefits of organizing one's mini-barn contents? You know where stuff is located!) to help ensure rabbits or other wildlife don't take seeds away or try to eat anything that surfaces this week during germination.
Managed to do a small shop at Sobey's on Saturday-promptly forgot that I placed my AM card on the ledge by the card terminal and walked away...3h later, where is my AM card??? Went back to store on Sunday afternoon and got it back (showed my receipt and ID). Customer ahead of me on Sunday almost walked away from his AM card on the same ledge but cashier saved him!
Went to two Shoppers-only one has Pepsi Zero but without the contest banner. Rexall's 2 for $4 Pepsi includes the limited edition juice version but even their regular and Diet Pepsi bottles are contest bannerless. Zipped into the nearby Dollarama for one regular Pepsi and told myself to give up the Zero quest and to stop buying pop bottles. I have 5 cap codes to enter next week when the grand prize is the $10K (yes, I have shopping ideas...)! I did get one pack of stamps at Rexall for 10% off so I am happy with that purchase.
Seniors 60+-tomorrow is Senior's Day at the Bay stores! I wish I had enough Air Miles to cash in for a $10 e-gcard but that will have to be another time. Plan to go with Mom to see if anything summery appeals to her before the clothing is sold out as it's June and so many deals have happened in May already for clothing. Noticed some summer slides (Malvados) on Simon's site that might interest her but the size is not there for her size.
If Mom decides to visit Millers Shoes for anything dressy, I have a 10% off regular price coupon from last year (no expiry date) to apply. I saw heels in a vibrant colour but they are too high for her--they have a decent chunky heel though.
I riffled through my coupons and realized that YOP protein/smoothie coupons expire at the end of June (yikes, thought the expiry was longer) as does the John Frieda $3 off coupon and Pure Protein bars coupon. Have them pulled out so they have a chance at being used this month.
School buses are in use as shuttles for the RBC Open in Ancaster. They come in along Wilson St. E. to Halson, drop off passengers on Golf Links Rd then go on Southcote Rd to return back to the fairgrounds. Police are keeping Halson monitored. Even the municipal parking lot has someone asking drivers if they are going to the municipal centre or old town hall. Some businesses near the muncipal centre have monitored lots-some are in use for certain tournament parking lots or have signage about authorized parking. One acquaintance told me that the RBC Insurance lot by Ryerson Church has only three spots for customers/staff-most staff have to park off-site elsewhere during this week. Pity.
flashfood small brag(with maxi and cie):)
3 st-hubert lorraine quiche reg price in store :9$ sale price on flashfood 5,99$(I dont know why) minus 50% off =2,98$ per quiche
I am set for lunch this Week for Under 10$ so great. But with flashfood you have to be very quick….I took the remaining 3 and they expire tomorrow
I was happy to make 1 trade with my e-mail adress on here yesterday!!! :) I hope the issues of messaging, reputation comments and ect...will be resolved soon,
Ho and stocked up for summer ice cream, ice cream yukon bars and cones (chapmans) free after my coupons (just paid the taxes) 3,99$ at iga this week.(Used my last 5 chapmans 4,00$ coupons acquired by trade for this so sad but happy to have treats in the freezer close to free) darn taxes,
Weekend grocery shopping-lettuce and cuke from Longos, plus their watermelon lemonade (made with cane sugar and it's grand!), Nutella ($4.99 sale for 475g jar) and a few other things. Bought Minigo at Fortinos; at Sobeys, I got two Clif fruit smoothie filled bars (tart cherry berry rocks-it's sort of firm on outside and soft-baked on inside and so yummy) with two tetra boxes of Dream Blends coco-almond beverages ($2.49 each). Of course, I had to get some seaweed snacks at Shoppers too. Weekend has been sort of hot one day and sort of chilly-warm the next day. Kind of makes mealtime choices a bit tricky-I'm eating what I feel the ambient temperature seems to dictate.
Could not find Longos sea dulse at my store. It must have been de-listed, along with the store brand's bite-size frozen fruit blend. They will be missed.
Sibling has a tub of Chapman's Premium strawberry shortcake ice cream. I had a sample and am not a fan unless strawberry is part of a neopolitan or other flavour mix. Need some ice cream to use in the sugar cones lurking in the pantry cupboards!

Redeemed for my free product before my one year anniversary with Clinique. Won $200 at the casino on the weekend and it's going straight to my credit card bill. Shoppers optimum offers are so frequent now, almost everyday. Reading an interesting book called The Au Pair - stayed up late last night reading it.
