I was lucky enough to get a job working at home for an office doing their after hrs calls and they do not mind that I have kids at home I just had a baby last year and went back after 2 weeks there were only 2 positions for all of Atlantic Canada but the best thing is no paying out babysitting and gas money

You need to be a bit more specific on what you want to do before you sell yourself for others to hire.
Been working from home for years and it's not so difficult as you think. You just have to "sell yourself" as a valuable resource/commodity. Advertising goes a long way, so does word of mouth from previous clients.

wow sheeny, you are lucky. That is what I am looking for, something I can do at home without that I have to put my girls into a daycare. my oldest will start school next year, so there would be just my youngest then. If I have to put them in Daycare, I might as well look for a job outside my home, for a bit more pay

Any more ideas? I am in BC. Did never worked before here in Canada, since I am from Germany, but got my papers, that I can work here now

Also worked in Germany in a few diff. jobs like bank (is in Germany a pretty good paid job - not like here !) I was working in Food Service for transportation on the train, learned legal secretary for 3 years with graduation...

So I do have very good computer scills (my english writing needs a bit more work, since I teached myself english in the last 5 years) and I do have great people scills

Really Sheeny you are very lucky that you got such a great job, can you please help me how you got this job because I really want to do something from home, my baby is 10 month old an next month I need to join my job (currenlly on parental). I'm really gratefull if you help me. Thanks

The only thing I can suggest is mine is with a homecare type office and they need people to be on call all hrs for emergencies you can try looking at that type of industry I just happened to have a friend who recommended me and there other girl quit on short notice so they needed someone right away

If you don't mind working out of your home 2 -4 hours a week you can sell Epicure spices. They are a 100% canadian based cooking/spice home party company. You get 25% comission and the product sells itself!
Where in BC are you? i'm in the lowermainland.

Most full time spots are around $900/month and you can use your home as a write off too.

Oh my goodness these Epicure spices are so good. I had a dip made with three different items, and it was devine. LOVE IT.

We had an opportunity to do at home work, and I thought it would be good for some people not me though. I know I wouldn't do the work, plus I didn't want it associated to my at home life lol. Just me personaly, hope you find something that works for you, good luck in your search.

Is your husband working? Maybe you could try your own home-based business making jewelry and/or clothing and selling it on places like ebay and/or kijiji. There are other auction sites too. If you have a farmers market or flea market in your area you could sell there too once or twice a week. If you don't have any money saved you might borrow a little bit (jewelry doesn't have to be expensive to make). If you buy bulk or wholesale on ebay you might spend 30-40 dollars or more (it depends) for 30 necklaces (seperate parts) but turn and sell them 5 - 10 dollars each. Or buy beads and stuff from a local store like walmart if you have one. This can give you time at home with your family and you can make jewelry on your spare time. If not there's always melaleuca, or other health businesses that are looking for sales people to work from home but they require fees and you don't always get what you expect. At least if you start off getting things yourself you know exactly what you're getting. I hope this helps.
