is there any difference between the two.. in the way they shape our young girls minds? Do you feel it even does shape a young girls minds? Is it all just meaningless?

Yes, Barbie is a very 'shapely' doll, but she isn't a skanky doll. She is made to look glamorous sometimes, but still in an ok way I think. And she is supposed to be a woman, not a child or teen. so her figure and clothing make sense in a way I guess.

Just asked my daughters what they think of Bratz dolls
the 18 year old said they look skanky
the 11 year old thinks they don't
I wish I could look like a bratz doll(not as much makeup) or a Barbie

I'm glad my daughter outgrew the doll stage before the "Bratz"came on the market. I personally don't like the bratz line. We still have some barbie , brittany spears doll, skipper.

umm... did anyone notice those bratz have giant feet?!
i had barbies as a kid, but didn't play with them for as long as my friends did. barbie seems like she has class and as said is more of a "woman" and had jobs! she did things girls could look up to and aspire to be, but bratz seem to just perpetuate the need/want to be famous. famous for nothing, as long as it is fame.

I love Barbies, I dont really care that there unrealistic. As a little girl I loved barbies, we never talked about how skinny they were or how big there breasts were, we combed there hair and played dress up with them, so I never self any self esteem issues arise playing with them.
I dont like the unproportionate heads on the bratz dolls, they kind of look like bobble heads, they have abnormally large feet as well, that and there wearing enough makeup to look like a las vegas showgirl lol!

I think bratz dolls are too skanky and I def. wouldn't let my daughter play with them.
