GO Train is distance based fare and is quite expensive for long distance travel, unlike TTC or other transit.
So $ 10 for unlimited rides, irrespective of distance travelled is good deal.
You can go from Oshawa to Niagara and cone back for $10. Probably a 200 Km journey one way! So 400 Km for $ 10.
Go to Guelph, Kitchner, Whitby or whatever.

I was excited when I caught sight of the deal two weeks ago, then last week learned it was a digital/smartphone offer only.
So deflated!
But my transit options to get to GO on Sunday are more limited. Happy travels to SCers who can make use of the Sunday travel offer!2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

I guess even if you have an access to a smartphone or tablet, only on Wi-Fi you should be able to use it. Not sure though.
Probably a cell phone plan or data plan might not be needed. But yeah you will always have to be near a FREE public Wi-Fi, I guess.
I think some buses, trains & stations currently have free Wi-Fi, very soon all of them will have it.
I have used a smartphone without a data plan for a long time, as I have a very good unlimited incoming & outgoing grandfathered voice/text plan for a small amount. If I add data to it and make changes to it, it will be lost.
Don't really need cellular data when I am outside. Voice is enough for me. And at home I use it on Wi-Fi for data.

Yes, some GO buses have indicated free wi-fi is available but as I don't have any mobile devices, I cannot comment on the speed or page loading rate of said wi-fi. Freedom Mobile users can enjoy the free wi-fi on the TTC subway.
I'd think that wi-fi signals on a bus/train or even outdoors are subject to weather conditions, say like falling snow or a snow squall. Not sure what the back up plan is then unless digital users have a screenshot of their Sunday pass saved on their phone in case their wireless plan or the GO wi-fi is not operational.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
