Today I read a post about KD Smart recall, called into WalMart (Leduc) and asked customer service, where they confimed the recall. I took 21 boxes back this evening and was refunded the full price of $1.67 per box. they had no info. for me why they were recalled. This recall is across the country as I posted on another site and a lady in NS called her Wal mart who also confirmed it.

Did they say why it was recalled? Or just a general non specific recall?

If it's a real recall, then it should be posted somewhere on the internet?

    What did Walmart say?

Please, when someone posts about a recall, the actual information would be useful.

    Edit:

The only recent recall information I can find related to KD is this:

    http://cpsr-rspc.hc-sc.gc.ca/PR-RP/r...jsp?re_id=1525

It's also the only recall they have posted on the KD Canada website.

apparently the recall is 'voluntary' and only on the velveeta cheese and microwavable boxes. Some boxes were found to contain traces of wire bristles.

That was about 4 months ago and it's a different product.

I found that, too, yesterday but figured it was too old.

I will take mine back if I can. I tried it and the next day I was so sick. It was the only thing that different from what I normally eat. I thought it was the flu but my back didn't hurt. I don't eat KD much but it has never affected me that way.

They are being recalled because the cheese powder contains artificial colour, and the box clearly states that there are none. My WM confirmed this when I called last night. I don't have a link, but kd confirmed the recall on their fb page.

So it's just a trace of something that people already eat. Labeling issue. Interesting. At least they're covering their backs.

I bet lots of people are going to take advantage and profit from it.
