I know i can still catch the Covid variant, get sick or asymptomatic and spread it, but somehow i feel safer knowing other people around me have been vaxxed and thats why im all for the passport.
yesterday Prem Legault announced that all hospital staff, caregivers and associated staff will have to be fully vaxxed by Oct 1. Imagine going to the dentist or hygenist and they arent vaxxed. I think i would refuse treatment from them. Also i have a dental apptment coming up in Sept, im going to ask if the hygenst has been fully vaxxed. There are many precautions in place in a dentists office and i think this should be one of them. While i fully respect the decision of someone not wanting to get vaxxed, i have to need to protect myself as much as possible. And they should respect that. It works both ways.
Exactly. There are no marches or demonstrations against those who choose to be inoculated. Those who choose not to vaccinate are not demanding the vaccinated wear armbands or tattoo their vaccination status on their forearms, either. Let everyone act in their own perceived best interest. Why is this significant? There have been outbreaks at several major retail stores, such as Walmart, Sobeys, and RCSS, in the last 18 months.

What scares me most is that roughly 20% of eligible Canadians have not been vaccinated. This means people in your neighborhood and mine, who shop at the same stores, go to the same public places, etc. And it's even more regrettable that for the vast majority of them, it's a decision they made, not something that is medically imprudent, that they are unaware of or forgot about.Quote:

They love to tell everyone how they carry the country financially. Looks like they need some carrying as well.

Albertans also received the highest level of COVID-19 support in total of people in any province, averaging $12,350 per person — and 92 per cent of those costs fell to the federal government with eight per cent coming from provincial coffers, the report found.
They lead the country with the highest federal government funding per person, averaging $11,410 per person, compared to Ontario, the second highest, at $9,940, the report finds.
The report attributes Alberta's high numbers to $1 billion from the federal oil and gas well closure program and substantial uptake of business support programs.
Albertans drew the most support per capita for business from the federal government, including through the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) ($17.5 billion) and the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) loan forgiveness program ($1.9 billion).
Support to individuals was the second biggest category in the province, through programs like the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), at $8.8 billion, the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB), at $3.5 billion, and enhancements to employment insurance benefits, at $1.3 billion.
The biggest business support programs through the provincial government, the report found, were relaunch grants for small- and medium-sized businesses, at $575 million, and $323 million for investments in carbon capture, utilization and storage.
The Doug Ford government will unveil a COVID-19 vaccine passport system next week, a senior government source confirms. The source told CTV News Toronto the certificate will be required in non-essential settings, like restaurants and movie theatres.
Ford will meet with this cabinet next week to finalize the plan, the source said.
