If we are going to support businesses, and Employers are going to keep employees safe, we need the vaccine passports.
You can't say that Ontario is Open for Business, and then not allow businesses to have a tool that will make their operations and transactions, easier, quicker, and safer.
Instead of requiring passports, those who are vaccinated should have a golden 'V' tattoo on their forehead to demonstrate their moral and intellectual superiority. After all, they selflessly sacrificed themselves upon the altar of public health and should have some visible badge to show for it.
Since they don't mind subjecting their bodies to needles, a few more pricks from a tattoo needle would hardly be noticed. The tattoo ink need not be permanent, either; it just needs to last long enough until the next booster shot. Instead of continuously and monotonously demanding someone/everyone else 'do something' for their personal benefit, personal vaccination tattoos would be solely within the control of the willing populace.:shock:

A passport is not visible and thus does not allow the bearer to boast his or her superior status while a tattoo cannot be ignored and forces everyone to acknowledge his or her moral supremacy.
Constant demands towards others to act in a manner to serve yourself is both selfish and juvenile. I suggest tattoos or QR code because every detail is within personal control; no action necessary from anyone else.

Vaccine opponents are not actively telling anyone else NOT to vaccinate. They are not restricting anyone's choice. They are expressing THEIR personal reluctance/reticence/refusal towards inoculation.
Jehovah-maskers/-vaxxers are demanding everyone else act in a specific manner in order to make them feel better.
Therefore, a tattoo from those who do not vaccinate is virtually worthless. They are not extolling their lack of masks or vaccination whereas pro-vaxxers seem to feel that their choice is somehow superior to the choice of others. Thus, pro-vaxxers need to visibily demonstrate and pronounce their status so that others may recognize their exalted status.
What good is a billion dollars, genius-level IQ, or vaccination status if no one knows you have it?
This whole discussion reminds me of the salem witch hunts where the women were tatooed on their foreheads. Kinda stupid your answer. The QC vaccine passport will only have your vaccination status, your name and the dates of your vaccines. Thats it, thats all. And if thats what it takes then im all for it. I need to feel safe when i go out. I dont even feel safe right now going to doctors appointments, or have blood tests, because you never know.
I realize even vaccinated i can still catch Covid but the chances are slim if i know everyone around me is vaccinated. I have talked people working in restaurants and they dont feel safe at all at all. Some peeps have refused to return to work in restos because of this. Owners of gyms, restos, bowling alleys, etc dont have enough staff because peeps are afraid to go to work. They want to be protected and a vaccine passport gives some semblance of security. Im all for it. And i dont believe im taking away their freedoms. They have the freedom to choose to not get vaccinated. But i also have the freedom to know that if they are not vaccinated, they will be refused entry in certain places. I dont want their names, addresses etc but no vacx, no entry. Thats how i feel and thats all i have to say about it.
That opinion is not currently supported by science. As stated earlier, only one country (Israel) has yet published a study on CoVid transmissibility after inoculation and the result wasn't good. They only found an estimated 11% reduction in transmissibility by the inoculated population. (Does anyone ever bother going to a 'sale' offering only 11% discounts? ;)) That was only one country with only one vaccine and I do not believe that the study has yet been peer-reviewed or duplicated.Quote:

It seems while it is perfectly fine to tattoo or force masks and armbands onto those who elect not to vaccinate, any mention of doing the exact same thing to those who chose vaccination is verboten. Any measure introduced to alienate or ostracize those who refuse vaccination is perfectly legitimate to be used towards those who opt for vaccination. It is the two-sides of the same coin/law.

Its not the piece of paper, its the knowledge that those around me are vaxxed. Maybe a false sense of security, but i would rather not be around unvaxxed peeps. And since unvaxxed peeps are now in the minority, well they can stay home.
I understand some there are some peeps who cant be vaxxed due to medical reasons, but they are in the minority also and they have a doctors attestation for that.
And the useless knowledge of someone else's private information might be important for a nosy busy-body, but it it is worthless in any medical sense. Just because someone might not want to be around a certain group of people is not sufficient to restrict their rights. You don't like them, then don't go out. Avoid everyone. In Alberta, some businesses like the NHL are demanding proof of vaccination. They are non-essential services. No one needs to go to a game. Your right to go is not greater than anyone else's right to go.
Father and me printed 2 weeks ago our vaccine papers...and today I installed on cellphone and i pod the vaccination proof qr code(same thing but in cell or i pod) and it is obligatory for some restaurants gym and etc ....since today
Weve had our QR code (vaccination passport) since we got vaxxed. On Aug 31st, DD installed them on our cell phone but i also kept our printed papers. So yesterday we decided to give it a try. We went to our fav resto for breakfast. As we walked in, we were asked for our QR code. I opened the cell and she scanned the codes. All it showed was our names and that we were fully vaxxed. The waitress said ok now i know your names. Its a pleasure to finally know this after all these years! She served us in English also every though we have always ordered in French before. So i guess that was a plus.
The point im trying to make is that this vax passport is not an invasion of your privacy. The closest thing i can equate this with is when smoking was banned from public places. You have the freedom to not go to a restaurant that doesnt allow smoking (all of them now). You also have the freedom not to go to restaurants etc if you so choose. But if you want to go, get vaxxed. Like if you want to go, dont smoke inside. Am i making any sense.
All in all, it was a pleasant experience. Everyone who entered was scanned, no one refused and no one put up a fuss. Maybe here in QC we are more used to the precautions that the QC govt has instituted; i dont know. But i do like knowing that when i take my mask off in a resto, the peeps around me are also vaxxed. Its not the piece of paper that makes me feel safe; its the knowledge that everyone else is also vaxxed.
As of yesterday it is official Ontario will also have a vaccine passport.
Although I do question some people's thought process. After it was announced yesterday a number of people starting to ask what restaurants would not be following the new passport rules and it was surprising to see businesses openly post on social media for anyone to see what they would not be enforcing the vaccine passport to enter their businesses.
It is not optional and businesses can be fine (yes, I am aware not all businesses follow the rules, some do not even enforce masks) but it surprises me some would be so open about it.
Although I guess the door on this one swings both ways, those against the password can choose to support these businesses and those who support the passport can choose to avoid these businesses.
A grocery store a few towns over is already facing backlash that they are now allowing unmasked partons to shop in their store. Most of our local stores have enforced no exemptions on masks, if you cannot wear one you may use curbside pick-up. But this business has openly stated they are still enforcing masks but will allow those who are exempt to shop without and are suggesting that instead of curbside being for those who cannot wear a mask curbside should be used for those who feel uncomfortable shopping with those not wearing a mask. I am not debating people's rights but my ultimate concern here is for their staff who have no choice, they cannot do their job curbside.
