Saw a Mission Thrift store email for yesterday's and today's 50% off clothing sale. I plan to see stores when the temperatures cool and the buses offer more capacity soon. No 30+C trekking for me!

@torontogal12 The only thrift store connection online would be the auctions run by Thriftstore.ca and Mission Thrift stores at certain locations. So you'd be looking at home decor mostly.

For clothing, you might score some finds at websites online as summer clothing is being reduced.

At the Hamilton ON store today, it's 50% off entire store (must load Five Star Rewards offer to get this deal).
I wish to join all of Hamilton on this stampede but Mother Nature has me flattened due to the heat/humidity.

Yesterday was National Thrift Day but Value Village only offered an Instagram post event.

Both Mission Thrift Stores and Salvation Army Thrift Stores offered 50% off most categories on Monday August 17.
I only saw the e-mails late yesterday so I hope that any SCers who got some deals at either store will post some of their finds here!

Thanks to @coupon girl for mentioning that Talize stores still have changerooms available for trying on clothing! I need to find some pants and I will need a changeroom! BTW, Talize is selling bags to customers or you can BYOBag when you shop.

Has anyone been to a thrift store since it has opened? I have been to Talize once in the week that it opened but it was kind of bare. I went to donate a few things at Value Village last week right when it opened at 11 and the parking lot was full.

@sweetbabigrl I have been in the Ancaster Value Village a few days ago and I notice very few short sleeve blouses in L and XL sizes. Anyone wearing size 10 pants or size 11/12 has lots to look at, providing they like stretch in their pants.

I was in Talize yesterday and tried on two pairs of pants and now own the navy pair! I've been looking since the start of the year and still need a second pair of new to me pants so I can retire the wide-leg ones that are my daily pair to chore duty only.

This is my first private invitation offer since the July change in sales. Check your e-mails for any private invitations. I just got a 50% off kids' clothing, shoes and accessories coupon offer for Sun Aug. 30 and Mon. Aug. 31. However,I don't have kids.

Value Village Super Savers club issues the private invites as per their July 2020 email. I think it might have something to do with controlling the size of crowds in stores due to pandemic safety precautions and maybe there was feedback from customers about stockouts on big sale event days. Missing the fitting room access in their stores!

Talize however does send sale e-mails about a week and also again a day before their big sales events. Wish Talize would e-mail their daily manager deals, as the Hamilton store no longer has a sign board in the lobby stating the deal of the day. I only knew the current offer when the staffer using the PA system recited the specials.
