That was soooo good of you! My little boy had to have a scope done on his throat and belly when he was 2. He was so upset (of course) that they had to give him some meds before hand to calm him down. It gave him the same effect as an adult being drunk....once a child has these meds, they aren't even allowed to walk on their own. I understand the pain of having your child in the hospital and the pain of seeing other sick ones around. There was one boy there that was having brain surgery.....AGAIN! And he was younger than my son. It's a sin that children have to go through this. And sickening and helpless for us to watch. What you did was really sweet! When my son was allowed to leave the hospital, Mom and Dad were so upset (but of course happy it was over!) and he was still upset over everything...I took him into the gift shop (CHEO) and told him to pick out any stuffed toy he wanted. He picked out two. Two years later, and those two stuffed toys are very cherished and will continue to be. I don't doubt that little girl will cherish her tiger just as much!
Stuffed animals can work miralces! My son was allowed to go in with one item, so we sent him in with his Purple Aw as he calls it (aw because he used to call dogs Awwww before we could say dog) and I can still remember when he got wheeled out, he was sitting up with Purple Aw at his side!
I hope everything is ok with your son!Last edited by leda; Mon, Feb 6th, 2012 at 10:02 AM.
