Joining my brothers family for dinner-we have been asked to take an apple pie. Just got some fresh BC apples so that will be easy.

Friends for dinner on Saturday. Keeping it simple with tourtiere, salad and apple pie. I will bake buns for dinner and muffins for the morning.
Then dinner at my parents on Thanksgiving day for turkey and we're bringing pumpkin pie. It's our DD birthday on Thanksgiving so we will do a video chat as well.

I was at IGA this morning and saw the Ricardo Stuffed Turkey Roll on sale. They have 2 kinds: the one i liked has cranberries in it. Im tempted to buy one and keep it for some other date. Still have until wednesday of next week to decide.

@lizzie bargain that would be ideal except this get together was allowed to go last minute and the only thing I had planned originally when it was just 3 of us was to sandwich 2 turkey breasts with stuffing and have a few veg so not buy a whole bird.
I have added to the menu with ham, spuds and pie but whatever there is left I'm hoping we can drive down a care package meal to our eldest DS who cannot be here. So different from any past Thanksgivings where we make the soup from the carcass...sigh. One day we'll be there again.

I love turkey carcass soup! You get all the left over turkey meat and the broth is already flavoured. Great for freezing also!

I dont like those preformed logs of turkey by butterball maybe consider cooking a small whole chicken instead
