We only have the 1 card but if it were just DH and myself I would not bother collecting AM. It's only because I shop for a family of 4, sometimes 5 that I get decent enough returns...also I am a 100% cash collector, and when I do redeem it is strictly used for groceries and nothing else.

I don't shop at Safeway. It is to expensive so I get miles with Shell, BMO and Amex and with the bonus events I will shop at Rona or Childrens Place.
We love to spend time outdoors in the summer so my last rewards with AM have been a Kayake and Camping Stove. Over the years I have also redeemed for Pots and Pans, Kitchen Knife set, Vacuum, flights, tickets

Can I ask some really basic questions? Is it still worth collecting airmiles? We used to collect them up to about 4 or so years ago when they changed the way they worked and did the big overhaul. The deals don't seem to be nearly as good as they used to be, I'm just wondering if I am missing something or if someone can give me some good tips for someone who hasn't collected airmiles in a few years?
I used to shop at Safeway and get quite a few, but that closed down

woo hoo!! I can finally trash all these receipts now. . The 1,200 Air Miles went in on the 17th. Figures eh? The ONE day I didn't log on to check if they were there.

Just a reminder that Lowes/Rona are not part of the Air Miles program after Jan. 31 of 2021. Since I stopped the flyers by e-mail, I have not been keep up-to-date to program changes other than when Air Miles puts something in its monthly e-blasts or promotional e-mails.

I gained 3 Air Miles in January by using the Air Miles Shops link when I placed an order at Simons. Nice! Pity I missed out on points in prior years.

@Ciel !! Thank you....I must have missed that news story about Lowes and Rona opting out of AM. Not much was purchased by us through them anyways...the odd thing worked when trying to find a qualifying AM offer for the Bonus Boom or other AM promos.
In other brain dead moments I was just about to call Cook It to see where my 500 AM were for ordering their food delivery system in Decemeber. It was deposited on Dec 7th! So fast! I totally skipped by it when I had checked to see if they had given me the AM.
Now ALL the STB receipts are being shredded....less clutter here.

I probably saw the Lowes/Rona announcements in late Nov or early Dec 2020 just prior to unsubscribing from their e-mails. Then forgot until I was in Lowes on the weekend and saw the posted statement at the customer service desk.

One of Bro's friends scored lots of points last year when Bro bought the replacement water heater. Good friend of his but he must have been happy to help install the unit (friend has many trade skills) when getting those AM pts on his points card.

Lowes will still get some business-yard waste bags for certain-while I am still walking around.
