I too would be interested. I have long straight hair and cringe when I have to pay $25+ to have 1.5" off. It takes less than 15 mins, even when they take their time!
Shhh.... I am saving money.

I've been wondering the same! I haven't gone to get a haircut in quite a while.. I think the last time was the summer before I got pregnant.

I'm no hairdresser but I successfully do my kids hair and mine too LOL
I don't expect other people to trust me with scissors though

Just a warning if you go to a hair school you could be there for a long time. I went to the one in Calgary it took 2 hours for a simple cut as the instructor had to check every snip
At all the trainees so spent time waiting for the instructor to come see if she did it right and what the next cut was to be.
I got a good cut but it's a time investment.

I wonder why those places cut hair for so cheap?! I always wondered and never went because I'm thinking it's going to be cheap because they're gonna botch my hair but when you think about it, they probably use the same products, no?

Well.. Honestly I have been to Paris Hair Salon.. this lady has been cuttign hair.. for a long time.. now her daughter Irene cuts hair as well. I guess you pay more for hair due to location of place.. gotta pay the rent somehow right.. I have gone to expensive salon's and had my hair Botched.. now it wont grow right.. any suggestions on how I can make my hair grow again.. this stylist basically decided to thin my hair out despite me saying no... no.. she said it would look good.. then.. chopped my hair.. arhhh good thing she got fired.. Dunno where she works now.. but she used to work at Spasation at Kingsway Mall..

I would go to a school if I got a free haircut. Singletons is still over $20 with a $2 coupon even without a wash. I usually go there and they are no better or worse than anywhere else. I just refuse to pay $40 for a haircut.
When I was in Thailand I went to the corner store bought a cheap pair of scissors and gave myself a trim. People stared and pointed at me anyway because of my red hair and tattoos. It wasn't that bad.
I was hoping someone had a hidden talent because everyone is looking extra income right now.Last edited by alwaysdaddysgirl; Wed, Feb 15th, 2012 at 12:51 PM.

You will get a free cut by being someone's model. Look on Kijiji. Lots of people want models for their cutting exams. However, quality will vary.

Unfortunately I don't qualify as a model as my hair is to short and they often want a certain length so they can demonstrate a certain style.
