    You use the camera on your phone to scan the QR code which will open up a browser page with the website. Then you just log in with your phone number and it will add the bonus entries!

    Don't you usually have to download a QR code app first on the phone (depending on which kind of code it is) before you can scan the code to read it?
    I seem to recall about 2-3 yrs ago there were about 3 different code systems that needed apps installed on smartphones in order to read the codes for information, contest entry or bonus material.

    no, nowadays all you have to do is hold your phone's camera to the QR code, it scans the QR code then a link pops up, and you tap on the link to connect to the website. A lot of places use QR codes: restaurants, schools, workplaces, etc. for many purposes. Of course, you need a smartphone with an internet connection. Sometimes it works best if you turn off your wifi on your phone and use your data. Hope that helps.
